Dear Satya,

Thanks again for your wonderful software, Data Extractor, which among others, provides input into FCharts.

Best-Charts is another Technical Analysis software, like FCaharts, also free, with more technical Indicators
and also back testing facility.

But the data format is slightly different, than FCharts.

My request is can you take the additional trouble to add a working button for Bast-Charts also?

The Link of Best-Charts is:
http://www.stock-anal.com/

The data format is:

The data format ought to be:
Symbol,Date,Open,High,Low,Close,Volume
^DJI,20021108,8585.75,8668.91,8503.36,8529.71,0
^IXIC,20021108,1376.37,1389.77,1354.28,1358.37,0
^GSPC,20021108,902.10,910.15,891.61,894.10,0
A,20021108,14.00,14.45,13.83,13.88,651100
AA,20021108,23.41,23.97,23.00,23.27,1677800
AAC,20021108,0.19,0.19,0.19,0.19,1000
AACE,20021108,8.15,8.15,8.00,8.00,2600
(with/without header row: Symbol,Date,Open,High,Low,Close,Volume)

I am also attaching the Best-Charts help file for your ready reference.

For any further information, I am always available.

Thanks in advance.

Joy,

first, try to download a latest BhavCopy from the NSE Wesbite and try to convert it to Fcharts. If its not working then dowload the attached file and overwrite the old file.

Dear Satya,
Sorry, that i was bother you again.
You may remember, I use win98se with office 97.

As i have indicated early, Data Extractor was successfully downloading the bhav copy files from NSE site and also was converting the data. But only today I tried to import into Fcharts. The data could not be read by Fcharts.

On further analysis, i observed that tha data formats created by Fcharts was not matching with the requirement. The data converted by me by other means was working.

Sample data converted by data Extractor, and sample data converted by other means are attached. (sample.txt)

You may notice the extra character before the NSE Symbol, which my be the main reason.

You may please look into.

Thanks for your time.

Hi Satya

I checked up the latest version. It works fine for NSE. Metastock and FCharts works fine.
I suggest that you provide a data folder(dataX) and output folder(outputY) with reference to installation directory or a fixed path such as C:/ NSEDATA , C:/DATA, C:/fcoutput or C:/Msoutput.Source and destination folder can be filled in accordingly. (X may be nse or BSE and Y may be FC or MS).

Proxy setting gives runtime error 424.

You can employ version number to indicate the current /latest version.
