I am getting the same eror mentioned above also bit defender is saying it is connecting to tradingtools.com.
Can you please explain?

Dear Balraj,

As you said, i do get this type of errors sometime as i am not a data vendor and i am not responsible for wrong data's - even it happens with reuters and esignal sometimes and experienced the same personally. I am feeding charts with real-time data's from ODIN/YAH00 and historical data's from YAH00/NSE/BSE, and if any of their data's wrong or if you have edited manually at some point of time in quote editor then the chart will look like the one as you showed below. Even it is not possible to filter out errorneous data's as we are not sure untill it is seen in the charts, let me know any of your comments to filter out errorneous data's and surely will implement the same as we are not the data vendors afterall.

1. You should start your ODIN software before running chartsdata.
2. Yes, I just started out with sample 3 scripts and you can add/modify/delete any no of scripts by clicking MODIFY button found next to profile selection. please go thru chartsdata.chm help file by clicking F1 or Help or file can be found at the chartsdata installation directory.

No problem with the installation. NSE & BSE Symbol update happens with the download of bhavcopy files from NSE/BSE websites and update NseScripts & Bse Scripts symbol files. It has nothing to do with proxy but the error implies that either your internet connection might be lost temproraily during the process not the bhavcopy server is not available or busy. If you got this error, just wait for few minutes and do the process again.

I am referring internally to a lot of websites to extract data for different purposes and it is not possible to list out all the websites as if you check with other options except NATIONAL, all data's are extracted from websites. Apart from this, i am creating a seperate blog like tab - including useful links to help traders like posting ideas, suggestions, products, live news, comments, links to various websites, forums etc but not yet enabled in any of the trial versions coz it is still in testing stage. whenever an error occurs all data processing stops but links to several websites will keep on trying for its RSS feed, updates and many more but it will not affect any of your chart/data processing tasks as they have the most priority.

This is a wonderfull software and which comes very much in handy. :thumb::thumb: romba supera irruke..

I use Metastock Pro.

However I have a few issues for which I would like your inputs to resolve them.
1. When I select ODIN I see no place to select to update data.
2. When select Yahoo, I can see only 3 scrips of ONGC,TCS and Reliance. And when I click on "NE & BSE Symbol update" I get the errors that something wrong with my proxy ..I have no proxy's etc.I am using this from home.
I have attached screen shot for both errors
I am able to view the 'Y!Charts' interactive. etc.
I have been able to download the data for only the three scrips mentioned above.

I installed the software from the 1st link in this post.
I use MS Windows XP.

All efforts appreciated

My chartsdata not working since yesterday ( 13/07/2009 ) befor that it was working very fine with Odin ! it is not showing data from Odin or yahoo and main screen not initializing Please help sir at your earliest

---- auto update rate if you can give adjustable from 2 to 20 second as per client comp capacity it will be helpful for low end pc

---- for yahoo if you can give freedom to client to enter symbol manually ( like RELIANCE.NS OR RELIANCE.BO ) it will fine get quote for any symbol from yahoo -- present there is a problem for M&M symbol from yahoo -- let exchange suffix filled by client ! by this way you can includes commodity data too ! and chartsdat will useful internationally !

Futures & Options backfill is available only for EOD periodicity as of now, NIFTY_SPT is nothin but nifty spot but not nifty future. Intraday & EOD backfill is available only for cash market and EOD backfill for F&O - both stocks and indices.

1. Yes, it is programmed like that. Whenever you change ODIN to YAH00 or vice versa, your chart updation will be stopped as the data source gets changed but as you said i am using same database c:\chartsdata\Amibroker for both ODIN & YAH00 but this is not a problem for F&O updations. F&O option is not available with YAH00 as they will provide only cash segments and hence you faced this difficulty - if you need realtime F&O updation, you should opt for ODIN alone.

2. Haven't you check REFRESH TIME INTERVAL option? you can manually set to have customised refresh interval for chart updations.

3. Yes, i am implementing it in the next version as a lot of users need international symbols & backfill options too.
