From odin to ms working perfectly, thanks.One issue In ms chart showing dd/mm/year insteed of mm/dd/year.In x axis it showing 8/10/2008 as aug and 7/10/2008 it showing july and 6/10/2008....june . kindly look in.

please check control panel|regional language options|regional. Whether it shows correct date format.

I am updating AB with this s/w but after few min or so iam getting error msg showing "Runtime error 521: Can't open Clipboard" and the application closes. Again i have open it to update AB
Would u pls guide me to overcome this issue.

Thanks for your software. In *****, In spite being logged in as you said keep me logged, I get data updated with 15 min delay for stocks from *****. Is it because my id *****.com instead of co.in?
Though I don't have ODIN, I am trying for that from my broker. Am I to understand from your above statements the present version doesn't import stock and index futures data from ODIN.

This happened with me also. I have two browsers IE and Firefox. Despite of logged in ***** using FF i was getting delayed quotes. So i changed browser and started using IE and problem solved.

Try this. It may help u out.

Dear All,

Please find attached the snapshots of my tool "ChartsData".

I have added "BhavCopy update" to the tool, which will download both NSE & BSE bhavcopies from nseindia and bseindia websites for the chosen date and corresponding scrips data will be imported to the specific TA software.

As I am in the process of testing data validation (got some problems with Metastock data updations), i will upload the first version as soon as the problem is resolved.

I want the tool to be neat & clean as you guys use, else i assume i couldn't be able to reply to your questions.

As a software engineer, i came to stock market a year back with the introduction of Saint's "Teach a man to fish..." and started learning the TA with the intention of earning in the stock market. But i found it difficult to see the real time data charting as they cost more than what we earn initially... so i started my research some 8 months back and developed this tool.

A lot of guys helped me to understand the bits and bytes of share market and i take privilege to introduce my tool to Traderji members.

Special thanks to Saint for the wonderful writing. It helped me like a lot of beginners to enter into the stock world and helped me to learn A,B,C of Stock market.

Please check out this thread later for the tool in a few days.

I have included the configuration files for Amibroker and FCharts (find attached) as these two TA softwares needs to be configured before using ChartsData for the first time.

Metastock Configuration - Just open metastock before starting ChartsData . No other configuration needed.

If you have installed the ChartsData prior to configuration, just delete the folder "C:\ChartsData", configure Amibroker / Metastock / Fcharts and start ChartsData. No need to uninstall.


1. ChartsData won't run if your computer is not connected to the internet.
2. Charts won't update if you are not configured your Amibroker/Metastock/Fcharts properly
3. Check out the folder "C:\ChartsData" for realtime datas in different formats - Amibroker, Metastock, Fcharts, CSV and XLS update.
4. Login to ***** with checked "KEEP ME SIGNED IN" to get the realtime quotes
5. Bhavcopy (NSE & BSE) can be downloaded for any dates and the corresponding chosen security charts will be updated if selected for Backfill.
6. ***** symbols will be automatically updated from last day NSE & BSE bhavcopies, if you choose the option "SYMBOL UPDATE FROM NSE & BSE".
7. IMPORTANT: TA softwares (Amibroker/Metastock/FCharts) should be started before opening ChartsData.

If you are not sure how to use a particular option, just place your cursor over the option to view the "ToolTip".


After all the settings/configurations has been made and if you feel something doesn't/stops working then close ChartsData and TA software. Open the TA software first and then start ChartsData to get realtime update and backfill.

Hope this clarifies a lot of your queries.

Just post me your questions and suggest how it can be upgraded with more features.

I am in the process of developing a tool to import ODIN/***** real time data to Amibroker, Metastock, FCharts, Excel and Txt with ***** 1 min/5 min/Eod backfill.

Its features are
1. 1 second ODIN real time data can be imported to Amibroker, Metastock (with refresh - without screen/chart flickering), Fcharts, Excel and txt format.
2. 2 second ***** real time data can be imported to Amibroker, Metastock (with refresh - without flickering), Fcharts, Excel and txt format.
3. 1 min-last 1 day backfill, 5 min-last 5 day backfill and EOD backfill for all NSE/BSE scrips.
3. 1 minute update of World Indices, Commodities and Currencies can be viewed realtime
4. RSS News updates from GOOGLE/*****/REUTERS with Search facility

It is in the process of alpha testing and few of my friends are using it for their own use.

Please let me know if more features can be added to the above list.

I will post the software as soon as it passes alpha, beta and black box testing. Check out this thread for further updates.

Your charts will be updated in tick but the data stored in your TA database will be in 1 minute format. I designed not to import tick data as it will fill up the database soon and your system/chart updataions/formula executions might be slower later.

True there is no such thing as a free lunch.I totally agree that your time and effort has to be compensated.however,plz include a free trial for odin as there are many boarders who would definitely want to switch to ur software once they are convinced of the product and test your product.
Till now most of the boarders are having tough time conecting ab to odin,i personally tried once but after that never had time to go through the software aggain as odin needs to be tested during market hours.Also plz keep us updated of the price tag.

Learn2trade echoed my voice.I having tough time connecting Fchart and now i having tough time connecting amibroker. as per your help pdf for ami,while configuring ami i give link in data settings, amibroker says folder must be empty,
Also request to others who use amibroker, after digging every thread in traderji still my intraday chart saying insufficient data, you need more data,I gone through y a hoo groups on ami, no use, few asked qs. in past but there answers wasnt fathomable by lay person like me.

It seems, still a lot of users found it difficult to connect ChartsData with Amibroker and Fcharts.

For Amibroker users,
Amibroker database will be automatically created by ChartsData at path C:\ChartsData\Amibroker. You just want to change the database settings. No need to create a new database if you have started ChartsData before configuring Amibroker for the first time else it will throw you the error "folder must be empty".

Open Amibroker database at path C:\ChartsData\Amibroker, go to menu File -> Database Settings and change Base Time Interval to 1 Minute from End-Of-Day (chosen by default).

Save the settings and go ahead with ChartsData updataions.

If Amibroker says "folder must be empty" (Your configuration is wrong), it implies that the database has been already created. Just open the database at the said path and do the settings as said above.

Amibroker will say "insufficient data" untill it has 3 bars, i.e. atleast 3 records should be in the database to view charts. Just wait for 3 minutes to load 3 records and refresh the database to view charts. Let me know if you still won't find charts.

For Fcharts users,
FCharts data will be created & updated in the path C:\ChartsData\FCharts. You just want to point out this folder to FCharts by selecting Intraday option at the left hand side panel (window named Live data will open and do the settings as shown in the confguration PDF). Please go through the PDF file for settings.

Let me know if you have issues.
