its short selling and not short term selling.

In short selling you sell stocks which you dont own.You have to buy stocks on the same day after short selling else auction shall take place.

Short selling is profitable when price of the stock falls bellow the price you have short sold.
If price of the stock short sold rises you shall have to book loss.

Re: Online Trading - Only Geojit is the best!

Few months back (years back????) GEOJIT offered flat brokerage 75 Rs per ONE nifty lot.At that time Nifty lot was 100.I planned to open an account with them.Later Nifty lot size was halved and made into 50.I asked them if there is any change in brokerage as lot was reduced to 50.They replied WE STAND BY OUR WORDS and there will be no change in 75/- per Nifty Lot.I never approached them again to start trading.

After trying many brokers I must say Geojit is good. Only their email support was very good a year ago, now it is pathetic!

you are wrong to say that Geojit is the best. They have betrayed many clients which you may be now aware. They do hooks and crooks to show bumber profit. Do you want proof ? I can give plenty. So you please do not recommend.

Hari, platform is a semi ODIN (actually based on Reuters Tibco). Scheme is fixed at Rs 75 per FnO lot, goes down to Rs 30 with high volumes, and 0.03% for intraday. They have fixed volume based discounts. Platinum platform cost is high - Rs.2000 per month, but FULLY adjustable with brokerage. Quotes are fast, and trades are very fast. Charts are there (java charts, opens only one at a time), but browser based. I have not found any problems with them so far. RMs cannot trade, so your money is more or less safe. To call and trade, you have to call a national toll free number.

Hope this helps.
