Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

I think am not allowed to give link here but here it is http://futuressimulator.sgx.if5.com/ , register and SELECT CNX nifty index for trading.
After registering , u cn read How to play though its very easy , the game gives you 200000 $ to play with , am backtesting this strategy and till now got 99563$ profit and unrealised is 34765$. You cn select quantity as 300-350 nifty as that much margin is available.

You also cn backtest the strategy or any other method , its better than those clumsy papers and pens.:D
Oh man man my dear cool man u r going sofast more then my expectations:Dgod bless u

Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

AW10 ,

Sir , i usually use this formula for calculating whether to enter short or long trade:

Level at 3pm-LOD/HOD-LOD*100.
I think acc to you i should use 3:15 pm level instead of 3pm.

On SL i agree with you , me too following your startegy , fo shorts SL HOD of the day and vice versa for longs.
My broker doesnt support AMO and i come frm school at 3pm so my trades are usually different frm every1.

Right now never faced loss , yesterday also gap up would have triggered SL but then at 3pm the tide turned but someday opposite may happen. am keeping my fingers crossed. You test with Opening 5 mins Sq off and i WOULD have to use 3 pm fro sq off. Let me too see success rates.

Would keep every1 updated of my Profits and losses in the VIRTUAL account:) I think frm next to next monday we cn start trading the strategy if next week also goes fine.

Currently I WOULD recommend People Use the Opening minutes for SQ off of trades using the strategy.

This weeks REPORT :: Good success rate.
Kammy and others : Bro , am thinking that cant we Wait with our Open positions till 3 pm and see if trend is chaged or not , If BIG % change is there we might sq off but again that Increases risk. Opinions please , just my thoughts.....
CoolBoy..
I am not saying that you use my timeframe of 3.15 pm.. It is your choice to pickup 3.00 or 3.15 of 3.25.. who am I to tell you that.. Finally it is YOU and YOUR acct and YOUR money. So don't listen to me blindly.. Plz..
Take the clues from me or from other sources..and then make your own rules. Most of the time, we copy someone elses rules/ systems and when they don't work, we give up. It is mainly becuase we never put effort to make those rules from "their rules" to "MY RULES".

Very first thing traders need is to take OWNERSHIP of their action.. So till the time you will not personlise it.. you will find it difficult to grow in trader's maturity and develop the confidence in your strategy.

Now my reason for using 3.15 pm - we want to be as close to 3.30 PM as possible. Chances of a decision going wrong is higher if it was taken at 3.00 pm.. compared to if it was taken at 3.15.. Even better would be to take the decision at 3.25 but that doesn't give us enough time to execute orders.. (If we have computers to place the order then we can program this strategy for 3.25 / 3.27 pm).

Happy Trading.

AW sir....thanks for discussing your set of rules...I had been sticking to the same (almost) rules...I have the results but im not posting them coz everytime i wanted to post those rules, i make a new change as per the days volatility....so i would rather want to follow the initial set of rules that you have discussed..Just wanna wait an see if our rules apply to the up run in the market as well..Only then i can conclude somethin...atleast fo the time being, our rules seem to be good enough...Thanks sir...I have been really busy with college and stuff..there fore not ablw to post much...

Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

No i was not saying that ...... say we are short next day GAP down if 5 min high + filter broken then we are out next trade is at 3.15 otherwise
if GAP down and market moves down we follow 15/30 min pivot to trail stop when hit we are out and next trade is at 3.15

have not tested it but think this way we can catch most GAPS so got interested

Regards
Satya
Satya, My first reaction is to exit at open! I think I understood what u were saying. Suppose we are short and gaps down, we are already in profit, why wait...book profit!!!
We are short and gaps up, we do not know whether waiting shall give us profit or more loss... so exit at open, book losses!!!

Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

Hi all,

Was watching the thread found it interesting. I don't know but i used to do the same thing in Options on the expiry day before the market closed last day of expiry used to go for CA or PA maximum times used to get profits in short covering by buying CA but that was my wild shots when no one was to tell where to go i used to do some guess trades thats all but yes Kamlesh and AW 10 the idea you are working on works I know this its strange but it works not all the time but sometimes it gives you that move which makes you go green. But its like walking on thin redline so Stop loss levels have to be very strict on this strategy.

Good effort i like this Jara saa Hatkay kay topic hai yeah:):)

Warm Regards:)

We do not have the facility to place an overnight Stop loss.

Please post yours too and let us discuss all the rules posted. We are sure to reach some consensus on rules to back test.

Look forward to your posts.

Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

AW10 ,

Sir , got your point and noted , its better we take as much late data as possible as we usually get last minute bounces or selling waves.
I have the comp and 3:15 or 3:25 would be even better. We cn do calcs within 2 minutes and place orders.

Thanks for ur inputs.
