Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

Hi,

I have read this thread carefully for 2 times. I am planning to start day trading. I can spend up to one hour daily. Read your strategy. Looks like its been backtested very well with Nifty.

But, I don't see anyone backtesting this strategy with single stocks ( like suzlon, Unitech ...). Can this strategy be applied to such stocks.

I have not yest tested this strategy. I plan to paper trade using this strategy on stocks.

Thanks,
Vinay

Happy new year to all. what is the problem in using the same method for those stocks which follows the index.

Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

Very interesting observation!!! Look forward to more input!!!
First thing that came to mind was :
How do we tackle the sudden movements after 3PM!!! At times we might have the price at 3 PM within our permissible limit of 60% and then by close it may go against us.
If we take a position at 3 PM when the price level was within the 60+% of the days range, but by close it moves to say 50% or less do we exit??
OR this movement is within the failed 20% trades!
A bit difficult to back test as it is not possible to decide at what priced do we enter.
All the best.

Trading this market for an hour per day is good but making profits is not possible. I had tried this was not able to make profits. Because it is rear that you can get movements in the market in an hour.
Dude its the last half hour of a day and the first half hour of the next day that we trade...here we try to capitalise on the gap ups and downs...
