Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

Hi friends...Thought its time to start contributing to this wonderful forum in my most liked part (derivatives).

So this thread is really an inspirational one from the obervations of all my seniors and friends here especially after i had seen the kolkata meet videos...

The aim of this method or system would be very very simple..To trade the first half an hour and the last half an hour of the day.
Talking about the basics (That are derived from Ashish da's speech), the method would be to identify the high, low and closing of the day...Our day would typically begin at or after 3 pm..This is when we decide to sell or buy the nifty future. The calculation is simple...Consider the high of the day and the low of the day..At 3 pm(the approximate level that would be near the closing) we would calculate if the closing is 60% or more of the difference between the high and low of the day.If the closing is assumed to be around 60% or more then we buy nifty for the next day.In the same way if we find the % to be less than 50% then we sell nifty for the next day.

For example....if the high of the day is 3000,low is 2000 and the level at 3 pm is say 2700..
The difference between high and low = 3000 - 2000 = 1000
level at 3 pm = 2700 which would be 70 % of the difference between the high and the low..
In this case we would take a bullish insight and buy nifty only to sell it off the next day..The method should invariantly be called a BTST or a STBT one.

I have observed the trends for the above methodology and found it true for more than 80 % times...The only time we get stuck in such trades is when the % difference varies around say 30 % to 50%....on such days and all days ofcourse we would take a small amounts of risks which i would post soon..Hope all my seniors will keep track of this thread and give thier valuable insights and suggestions for all the juniors like me...Hope to learn a lot while this thread progresses....
Dear Kamlesh,

If you are referring this as the start of the thread I do not think I have missed much. What you are trying to say is that we can at all the times take end of the day figures of the market as refrences and initiate a trade for the next day. What you are trying to say is that at the end of the day the whole scenario is complete to take steps for next day and you are not doing intra day trading you are making interday trades. Which is not such a bad idea. But could you tell me now. Suppose I asked you this question on Friday at 3:00 Which direction should I buy. What would have been your answer? I would be very glad to know that.

Ok derich...for your query lemme post the levels at 3 pm for nifty futures on friday..

High was 3027.40 and low of the day was 2883.30 and the level at 3 pm was 2978..

ok now even if u decide to check the trend exactly at 3 pm here are the calculations..

high - low = 3027.40 - 2883.30 = 144.1

level at 3 pm - low of the day = 94.7

And that would give you 65.71% and a bullish buy signal....

So even if u had bought at 3 pm you could have made (2985-2978 = 7) points by the end of the day...

dear kamlesh,

I do not know how you claculated the profit. Because at 3.00Pm friday Nifty Futures were 2996.90. by your method the trend is bullish so I would buy it and it ended at 2986. So from my prespective I am at loss of Rs.10/unit. What I see on Monday is somewhat negative opening. So let us see how this progresses and yes I would love to hear how you claculated the profits:D.

Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

Detrich..i have taken the level at 3 pm and 30 seconds which shows 2978 on the chart (if u can see the circled areas)...so the close was 2985 and u make 7 points...still bullish....it is not how many points you lost after you bought...here once you buy u check it only the next day...plzz plzzzzz refer to the method again...im sure you dint understand anything that i posted about the method...

Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

And about the calculations part,

[(level at 3 pm - low of the day) / (high - low )] * 100

This would give you the %....

dear Kamlesh,

There is no need to plead so much. What you want to say is that once I buy at 3:00Pm I should shut the window and start next day? That is what I gather alright. The percentages I got and I do not give a hoot about what nifty spot shows because I have nifty futures which has premium flactuations which differ to the direction of nifty. What I am really intrested in knowing what do you think about this? How much % you give that tommorow this trade will be in positive at the first hour of trade and what levels should I expect? I will be highly obliged if you could specify that too.

Re: Trading only one hour in a day !!!!!

Pkamalesh sir,
Wow!!!

A heated discussion is goin on. I am jumping in here.
Anyways i read the method and its in my mind now , just one thing have u backtested this method or u told all members about it as soon as you invented it:)

If not backtested then we would have to do some paper trades here atleast 4-5 to win confidence.

Thanks for sharing the method
