Quadra Safe Trading Strategy - I

Points earned could have been many folds higher....if following was considered....

a) Initial Capital allocated is 50,000 (I remember when started trading in August of 2004 when the lot size of NF was 200 ...Total margin requirement then was about 10k or less)
b) Position sizing based on profit accrued after removing the Initial Capital of 50k out of the Trading capital....
c) Conditions outlining 'Adds' if the market moved in our favour...!!!

Perhaps few other things.....but whatever outlined above was included instead of plain vanilla Trade of 1 Lot NF....it could have easily crossed 100k points....!!!

Best part...all it required to do was spend 5 minutes when the market opened...infact with AMO available for last few years, even that isn't necessary....!!!

2906 sessions...

Edit : Sorry, from 19-07-2000 to 17-02-2012 is 2869 sessions, not 2906 as mentioned above. 2906 is from 19-07-2000 to 13-04-2012 (i.e. immediate previous session). The strategy says "No trade" since 17th Feb.
Yes...TP no trade because 50-EMA has flattened out.....but there should be a trade coming up soon...from whatever I have noticed & remember of the Chart...!!!

Forgot to log in the dates for entry and exit in excel....while going through the charts...that could have been very helpful in evaluating Qualitative Analysis...guess will have to go back and check on the dates.....so the promised QA will get pushed to next weekend....:)

Of course, the points mentioned are without the "compounding effect".

Even if the trade comes tomorrow, the current series will be more than half-way through, so would you advice the traders to trade in the next series ? An important point, IMO. We got stuck on it somewhere in the 315 thread.

Some more calculations :

98 trades in 2869 sessions = approximately 1 trade per 29 sessions !!!

17146 points in 98 trades = approx 175 points per trade. A guy can make a livelihood out of this :)

Reference to AMO was that now one doesn't even need to spend the 5 minutes in the morning to punch in a new order or previous S/L for an open trade or a new Trailing S/L....AMO is available for F&O....!!!

There is no Trade for Monday to punch in... but depending on what happens on Monday...we will need to see if there is a Trade for Tuesday...which I doubt very much....perhaps...we could get one on Thursday....:)

Depending on whether we have an open trade or not if we are in the 3rd week of the month....would seem most probable.... to open any new trades in the next series....!!!

Applying Quandra to USDINR, have I defined the SL correctly ?

Aside : Contrary to the expert opinions, I do expect a downside in this scrip, and there is a bearish divergence on the stochs. I am not long on it at this time nor short. The MAs seem to be travelling nicely parallel and uptrending.

PS : Two questions about MT4.

1) Can I have two different colors for an EMA - for bullishness and bearishness - as with TT ??

2) How can I draw a small horizontal line ?? The one I have drawn covers the whole chart :(

USD/INR always take the cue from first day of the new week....!!!
If Market goes up then the chances of USD/INR going down is much higher..and the trend can continue....!!!

Yes you can have two different colours for any MA ...but I think it requires some programming codes....though not sure..if it is available without having to programme....will explore and get back....!!!

To Draw a line of specific length use the Trend Line to draw Horizontal, Vertical or Angular..... by default it will draw a ray... extending to infinity... but double click the trend line to see the 3 points that appear and then right click > Trendline Properties > Parameter Tab > uncheck the Ray box....which by default you will find it checked....!!!
