Quadra Safe Trading Strategy - I

Sorry to interrupt and to ask a very critical question:

What is the main advantage I will have with those simple MA's against other trading systems which for example use only order flow?

Just to give an idea: In Metastock we can use system tester for MA's and they will give us much more precisely entry and exit points like the MA's shown here.

As far as I remember SG used to trade on bid ask orders. What is the improvement to this simple MA trading idea ?

Hi Dan,

There is a manual Backtest in the first post based & Charts NF-1 to NF-23 posted subsequently....!!!

Bid-Ask you mentioned has a very steep learning curve.... and not suitable for most....!!!

While there is no comparative study yet of Quadra with another System.... Quadra as EOD requires only a few minutes....of a Trader/Investor's time.....!!!

Will be doing a comprehensive Manual Backtest with Position Sizing later....then perhaps one can judge its efficiencies & deficiencies....!!!

Presently. we are still discussing various conditions of Quadra....!!!

Why a similar MA based system have performed poorly under live conditions...is because most of them did not take into account Choppy Markets...and including a 'No Trade Zone' built into the System....including one of my own previous System.....

Dear SG

Thanks for your answer and sorry for my critical question.

I use MA in my charts, but I do not value them to much as they are always behind what is going on. I use them for trends.

In this thread, as far as I saw, they are used as only indicators. As far as I remember the Turtles also used them as only indicators, but that is dinosaur's stuff.

Not clear about your knowledge about TA. What about +DI and -DI combined with ADX to see if you are in a trend or side way market.

Just to give an idea how to recognize such choppy markets.

Good trading

Hi Dan,

Dinosaur's are still being researched....:)

It is the world around us that makes us believe New is better....I would rather be driving a Lamborghini Countach LP400 or a Lagonda......instead McLaren Mercedes.....!!!

Anyways, will address your doubts seriously with figures in a week or so... but will require active participation from you.... for comparison of your System...!!!
