R K Global Issues!

Hey Frends

I want some views from you all. I have RKG A/c through which I have only traded Options so I know max charges including all will be 50/- (both side buy & sell). I would like to know if I trade in futures (buying & selling) on RKG then what will be the max charges from both side (buying & selling).
Currently I am trading futures through Angel & as such there are no technical problem except the Brokerage charges which vary from 125 to 200 per lot one side. So i am thinking of trading through RKG as brokerage is 9/- per lot one side.
I am using web versions in both Trading account (RKG & Angel) & both are on same platform as created by one software company (Financial Technology).

Waiting for you views.

Thanks

as far as I know charges are same for both option and future. Because their charges are not percentage but per lot.

Hi Ashpats,
The total ONE transaction (Buy+Sell) cost you 100/- in case of RKG
inclusive of Brokerage+Taxes.

Past few days have been very lousy with RK Global. Thinking of closing the account. Orders are not executed on time and later in the day they get executed at market despite cancelling the orders. Suddenly I find I have no margin because some old orders get executed. Weird stuff. When I need to take profits it logs me off abruptly and the moment is missed (web version used). On the whole I think RK Global is a pretty shady outfit. I use sharekhan as well and the tradetiger is far more reliable and has had only two outages in the past 3 months. RK global goes down every afternoon for 15-20 minutes and I can do nothing during that time and usually the market tends to move against my position!
I don't understand how they can continue to operate by providing such sub standard service. They are cheap, no doubt one of the cheapest in India but there is no use of cheap brokerage if I am not able to capitalise on the opportunities presented due to RKG's system problems.
Sharekhan brokerage works out to nearly 3 times RKG brokerage. But they are pretty reliable. Sometimes its worth paying more brokerage but it eats into profitability during high volume days.
Any recommendations for a similar cheap but reliable broker?

Hi Balab,

I don't know whether you are a trader or an investor. If a trader, you should have taken the ODIN facility of RKG. You have Tradetiger of Sharekhan which is a terminal for traders than why don't you use ODIN terminal of RKG!!! All the web portals of the various brokers cup big time when there is heavy load in the market.

Yes, I should - thought I'd try out the web version for a few weeks before committing to a monthly payment for ODIN and then transition all trades from Sharekhan to RKG.
Any experiences with ODIN of RKG from people using them regularly? Does it time out for 15 minutes in the middle of the day? Missed order execution? Delayed order (delay of an hour+) execution on limit orders despite price matching market? Any other weird bugs or errors? Please share.
Sharekhan is pretty robust but they are not cheap and they won't negotiate much.
Thanks

RKG ODIN = No problem in data flow, order execution.
But gets disconnected quite often.
RKG is better for scalpers/frequent traders. If u ride momentum, carry fno positions, then better to avoid RKG.
I found Sharekhan best in all aspects except brokerage - in transparency, in software (tradetiger), in reasearch materials (not intraday tips), rm/cc, etc.

I thought you traded Futures using overnight positions on RKG. Isnt it difficult for you then: large margins etc. or you switched to some other style?

There is a new fixed brokerage player in Bangalore Zerodha. Try it if it suits your requirements. margin is significantly less than RKG too. Platform NSE Now and rs 20 per order.
