Actually it is all the same as mentioned in first few posts.

To summarize

  1. Open TT - Marketwatch - Usersettings (right click ) - select columns as follows
  2. (Exchange,Scrip Name,Last Traded Qty,Current,Last Traded Date,Last Traded Time)
  3. Right Click Market watch and select Snap to Excel - New Snap ( One Time Process)
  4. Save the excel
  5. Create New empty(NSE.xls) excel file and fetch data from first excel
  6. In NSE.xls ( Change name of scrip containing space in it. eg slvr 2012 should be slvr2012)
  7. Using Name Manager provide names to cell as mentioned in start of this thread and save new excel
  8. Do settings in AB as mentioned in first posts
  9. Just remember that next time when u start TT , use Load snap and then start AB

I am currently concentrating on developing all the above with Perl , so was not able to write in details.I will help u on teamviewer later on .Rajvir from our TJ knows exact process , we had done it for single scrip.

Raju

Hi anantharaaman,

I am aware of manual process for ODIN.Have tried on one of our TJ frnds's PC.Automated process for backfill using ODIN ...difficult task for me.

Does data get stored in csv/txt format on harddisk when ODIN is used ?

Hi Ananthraaman,
Mine is ODIN 10.0.0.2 which gives option to directly open market watch in Excel. I don't know which version are u using.
I basically was interested in 2 primary symbols ie.NF and Copper.
Raju did fabulous job of pulling data for both in Ab.

Now coming to backfill : My ODIN do not have backfill data for historic days.So i have to manually do folllowing:
Market watch- (shift+f12) - u are able to see data of security starting lowest timeframe of 1min in tabular form. U have to copy this in excel and addition/removal of couple columns and convert to .csv and import to Ab.
If i my ODIN is off for sometime, i have to follow this procedure before day end, failing which i am lost with that day's data.
Though looks tedious, backfilling is not tedious provided u are handling couple scrips.
Raju is working to handle multiple scrips.

This utility is w/o any linking software/tool.Mere excel does our job.

Raju : Most welcome if i missed any point or went wrong.

Arjun,

One thing I forgot to configure on u'r machine was RTD Throttle.

http://www.traderji.com/intraday/60576-realtime_now_excel_amibroker-3.html

Instead of 3 secs the duration fir fetching could be made 1-2 secs. Please follow procedure mentioned in link. This might help (Not sure if update comes after change or every few configured secs it is checked ...not going in much technical details..go-ahead and check if it works good for u ...

Raju
