Angel Broking

I was contacted by Angel representative and told me that I need to pay Rs. 5000 as initial margin + 775 account opening charges.
What is the minimum initial margin amount for Angel?
Has anyone paid more/less while opening the account?
Can minimum initial margin amount be zero?

I opened the account about 25 days back. They took Rs 873 as a/c opening charges and nothing else. I was told that i can transfer funds online and start trading. Moreover, they take a lot of time to get all the documentation done. It took them 7 days to get my client ID and password and I was told that I can trade now by transfering the funds, but I did not since I'm not in possession of any documents regarding my account. It was mere verbal confirmation of client ID, not documentary proof. THey told it will take 20 days to a month to get dp id and the kit with all documentation.

Those who do not provide customer care and who find that respective s/w. is not upto expectation should quit such brokerage house and seek somewhere else. This what I have been doing and in the process lost some money, including with Religare's Race-pro. This is only best option according to me as there is no other bodies which would look into the problems faced by investors. All in paper only.

Even though there are many short comings, I find that SSKI and India Bulls are better option. I repeat, it is comparably better.

Also I have searched quite a few threads in Traderji.com, and saw only positive feedbacks from the members about Angel.
Is Angel Broking that good or someone is trying to do the marketing here?

I am trading with angel. o far I tried ICICIDIRECT, HDFCSEC, IDBICAPITAL,RELIGARE AND ANGEl. I find angel is better than others. May be my CR person in chennai is good. I find one problem that online fund transfer from/to Angel takes more time. I have to pursue this. It happens after a day or two.

I have had experience with many, but not tried Angel. I have had experience with Religare's Race Pro.

I just got my delivery instruction slips and a printout stating my account number, etc. It took 1 month to deliver that though I was told I may trade as soon as I get my client id, but i was waiting for documentary proof. Is there any other documents they should provide apart from delivery slips and a printout stating my a/c no?
