SH's 315 Strategy - how to use if effectively

Dear SH

Wonderful strategy. And, the beauty is that it always keeps you intact with trend.:clapping:

Just finished reading this whole thread, and in between applied it to some stock futures. I hope this will suit me a lot.:thumb:

Just a query......EOD crossover happens gradually in continuation with crossovers of smaller time frames. Every EOD crossover starts with TF of 1 min, gets strength with higher TFs, say 5 minutes, 10, 15, 30 minutes and then appears on hourly charts.......obviously on intraday charts. I am wondering to catch any such EOD crossover in daytime only.

Any clues ?:)

Shorted NF now at 5830. SL close above 5840 today.

IF it closes above 100 EMA today, i will open swing longs.

Cheers

Dear SH,

As per 315 strategy, we should hold short irrespective of candle's touch of 100EMA. Am I right? You said in 'Market correction strategy' that if 3EMA goes below 100EMA; then, market is bearish. Again, you have said that personally you exit short at the touch of 100EMA. Accordingly, you have exited at the touch of 100EMA and once again shorted NF @ 5830 when price has gone below 100EMA. Now question is : have you opened new short @ 3.25PM or as soon as candle has gone below 100EMA? If later is the case, candle may come up and close above 100EMA. What is the right way to do? Secondly, you said you would open swing long if the candle closes above 100EMA @3.25PM. Is it even if 3ema is below 15ema, right? Thirdly, why SL at 5840 -- any specific basis?

Hope I am clear in my questions!

Please clear these querries.

Based on SH 315, applying that to stock futures, analyzing EMA crossovers at EOD candle, I executed following trades on last Friday -

Bought 1 lot of BHEL Dec Fut
Sold 1 lot of BHARTIARTL Dec Fut

For hedging purpose, I am long and short in one each.

For example -

I had a keen watch on movement of BHEL on Friday. Results are -

First 315EMA bullish crossover seen on 1 min TF at 12:50 PM.
Above crossover got strength on 2 min TF at 12:55 PM.
Again strengthened on 5 min TF at 13:05 PM.
Followed by crossover at 13:20 PM on 10 TF charts.
Crossover at 13:30 PM on 15 min charts.
Crossover at 14:30 PM on 30 min charts.
and finally crossover at 15:00 PM on hourly charts.
These all crossovers lead to EOD crossover on Friday.

Can this methodology be applied ? Anyone tried this earlier?

Hi SH,

I made a table sort of arrangement for combing 315 trend and contrarian strategy. Can you fill (several) shortcomings?

You can add situation 5, situation 6 etc in additional rows, if they can be defined easily (not requiring 2 or 3 pre-requisites).

regards
vin

New short were opened opened when the markets bounced back from 5750 levels and touched 5830 levels (this is where 100 EMA was). I was expecting 100 EMA to resist the rise hence opened the shorts without waiting for 3.25PM.

However 100 EMA did not resist NIfty and it closed above 100 EMA, so I had to open longs. Please note that 3 EMA is still above 100 EMA so no harm in opening longs assuming 100 EMA is supporting the markets.

IF 3 EMA is below 100 EMA as well as 15 EMA ... I will definitely short the market. IF 3 EMA is below 100 EMA but above 15 EMA, I will be long based on 315, will book at 100 EMA and short assuming 100 EMA to become the resistance. This usually happens when markets are in the bear phase and trying to enter a bull market. The bull market gets confirmed when 3 EMA crosses and moves above 100 EMA.

Hi Tradewithhunter.
I read ur EOD 315 EMA strategy. Nice work done by you. But I have some confusion about the time of entry and exit. Should I enter before the market close i.e between 3.25 to 3.29 pm and check the EMA position at the same time on the next day to exit or add more based on the position of the EMAs. If this, I need not track the market on the entire day ( as I am a service man). Kindly clear my doubts. I am eager to trade from Monday based on ur strategy.

I follow in ur later trade that u also use 100 EMA .What is the significance of 100 EMA?

I have RT data feed(Market-Data-Provider) in Amibroker. So is it possible to use RT data in Daily basic and take position ?

Regards
Gautam

Hi,
I just noticed that there was a buy signal for acc futures.
take a look at this chart

Taking a look at the 6 month chart, makes me feel that it is going to bounce back after the 100 ema touch,
but not sure . What do you think?

do you think I should go long on it, when the market opens on monday?
Or maybe I should just stick to nifty futures.

please advice
