SH's 315 Strategy - how to use if effectively

i still can't understand
It is very simple, Sandeep. The green dotted line is 15EMA, red dotted line is 3EMA. Their values are shown on the RHS panel in their respective colors. The screen capture is at the time when NIFTY SPOT was at 5503. The diff between 3 and 15 EMA at that time was around 7 points. As the NS moves up the gap will narrow down and crossover takes place. As the NS moves down the gap wil widen and the crossover will not take place.

However the chart is for NIFTY SPOT, whereas we have to follow NIFTY FUTURE for this strategy. Unfortunately I don't have NIFTY FUTURE Chart with me. But there will be only slight difference between these two.

I hope the above clarifies your doubts.

thanks for quick reply :)

is there any rule to wait till 3:15 pm, if cross over is already happend.
i mean what is reason to wait till 3;15 pm (just asking to confirm)
To calculate the 3 and 15 EMA we are using the Closing price EOD... so when you see 3 EMA crossing 15 EMA, during the day, say at NF level of 5525.. the Daily chart shows 3 EMA has crossed 15 EMA comfortably, but within an hour or two the NF drifts down to say 5450 and now the same chart will show that the crossover that had happend is no longer there, the 3 EMA line has come down and no longer above 15 EMA. So we try to decide on a crossover at the last minutes of the day so that the chances of the EMA's going back to their previous trend are negligible!!

Hi rh,

Very Good question. I too had similar queries coming into my mind at various times . Well IMHO the reason to wait till 3:15 is to be sure that the crossover is going to sustain till that time. For example, if the crossover happens now and near the end of the day NIFTY reverses and goes south then we will be in a dilemma. Also if this happens one time during the day it is ok, but sometimes it happens that NIFTY wants to have a dance between certain range, In such cases we will be coming in and out of the positions many a times. Which will add not only to the losses but also to the brokerage.

I hope I am not boring the members with such a long rhetoria, Should learn to concise the matter in a few lines.

:D Thanks MSA, but BTW, it wasnt a "question" in my post, rather I was trying to 'explain' what you had done in your previous post to Sandeep Kala!! The 315 concept is very very clear to me, thanx to my interaction with rkkarnani and ccmb420(no longer a member)
This post makes the matter much more clearer. Trust now Sandeep must have a better understanding!!

May be kept in observation till 3:25+. We cannot accept it as crossover yet!! But really helpful for those who do not at all have any way to view EOD charts in RT
