SH's 315 Strategy - how to use if effectively

Should we go for add shorts ? I am not sure

Please confirm.

Yes one can ADD if they didn't add at 5620 earlier. If they have already added at 5620 ..dont ADD here since it will increase the overall risk.

I have added 50% shorts back at 5460 now (the one's that were booked at 5350 earlier this week).

Shorted again at 5474, as had exited completely yesterday at 5364! Holding the original qty. only, adds were all exited yesterday!

Hi SummaSumma - indeed basic questions which have been answered in the first post itself. The positions are reversed only in the last few minutes of EOD to ensure that the crossover is complete. It might mean we get a short at the bottom of the day ..but its ok.

I always refer to Nifty futures, I dont think I have ever mentioned or advocated the use of Nifty spot data.

More than happy for you to start a separate thread and post links to important posts there. I think its a very good idea :thumb:

Just to confirm my understanding, I assume this is what you trying to say?

For a situation like this:
----------------------
"Assume that i have entered a LONG position around 3:27 PM today.
Tomorrow when the market opens up, if i see the 3EMA crossing below the 15EMA( in EOD candle of that day ofcourse) around 11 AM, what i should do?."

Solution is this:
---------------
"2. wait till EOD around 3:27PM again, as the 3EMA might again go above 15EMA by the EOD(this can happen,rite?) and make the decision."


And regarding the new thread, i have read only 16 pages in this thread and collected the links...So let me take some time and pick all the useful links and post back in new thread.

Having confirmed the strategy by back testing on couple of stocks, I am quite interested in benefitting from this system and start trading.

I am in full time job and can spare few minutes per day for trading, so this system suits my needs and risk profile very much. Thanks to SH for this :clap:

I have couple of doubts requests,

Can someone please post a link to the post which gives the excel calculations for the 315 strategy. I have gone thru the first 120 pages of this thread and have either not yet reached this post or have missed it

For people like me who do not have access to intraday charts, what is the best source / way to download the prices futures of selected stocks?

At present I am using data on nseindia and manually inputting them into excel at aroud 3.15 per day. Is there a better way to do this? please guide me

Any help would be greatly appreciated :thumb:.

I dont think it is advisable to enter Short now!! The initial Short came around 5770, if i remember correctly, then there was exit and reentry and add giving stupendous returns in this move!! There in no logic in waiting till 3:25 for reentry as we reenter on 3 EMA touch and add we do at 15 EMA touch.. If you are willing to take risk go ahead and short now (CMP 5478) but understand the ground realities.

If you see the past crossovers, you
will notice that if 15 EMA lies within
the body of the EOD candle, then the
crossover will take place at the next
candle. So I feel the crossover can
will be on Monday.

Sandip - please take your own decision based on your risk appetite. If you have not been short... you can take a small short here ...if Monday crossover happens you can exit.
