SH,

One more doubt regarding 3day and 15 day EMA...

Will these change during the course of day or will they remain the same throughout the day from the opening.

For Example , at opening of day at 10:00 AM , if the 3EMA is 5150 and 15 EMA is 5120 , will they remain the same even at the end of day i.e. 15:15 or does it change as the time goes on ??
They remain constant through out the day. the EMA5 is weighted avg of LAST 3 days close price. todays close price will come in tomorow calculation.

however, at 3:15 PM, you can take a chance and enter the trade in anticipation if you think there would be a cross-over

Hi Bandlab2,

There you are .... I see you active in almost all the threads... Great going...

I was seeing your posts in Pride's Intraday strat thread ... How z that working for you ... Since that thread is almost inactive , I am asking you this question here...

Thanks

RajatheRoyal,

It would be wise if you do 2 paper trades when the crossovers happen next time and see the return before commenting on others abilities....

I have been paper trading this since a while and seeing good results....

It is of no use to keep posting charts which might have been interprted wrongly either by you or others....

Do follow the entry and exit prices given by SH in last few months and comment on then....

Money management is really very imp in any method...
Yes i agree it works for paper traders.:)

how to handle the whipsaw happened between 7August to 24August 09.Plz reply as my queries are getting dumped in the worthless discussion of whether this strategy is good or not. If someone didnot like it,leave it man go ahead with other strategies, why waste time of urself as well others.

Hi Arti,

During the period you mentioned for NIFTY, RSI(9) was always below 50, MACD histogram was negative and did not cross over above 0 and stochastic was also in the zone where it is not so important. These were suggesting that the signals were to be taken with caution. However on 21-8-09 these same indicators suggested a change in trend and beginning of bullish trend. Therefore, you have to confirm the signals with other indicators also. RSI, MACD Histogram and Stochastics can help in this decision making. In the chart shown in your post these indicators are present and you should have looked at them.

What u are using seems to be Nifty Spot chart!!! In Nifty Futures chart there do not seem to be a whiplash during this period!! But yes it is a good query to raise, for such situation may arise at some time!!!

Though your reply may be as per good Technical Analysis but looking at so many parameters would loose the simplicity of the system. Any suggestion how to handle the situation pointed out by Arti can be handled in a simpler way would really welcome by many of us here!!
