SH's 315 Strategy - how to use if effectively

Went through the entire thread (almost) Did not find figure or Excel sheet or simple mention of the Profit by anyone analysing just the crossovers of 3 and 15 EMA's, i.e. without 3EMA not touching exits and adds at 15 ema!!

So I tried to analyse it Bar by bar and am surprised at the results!!

This result shows why so many people seek clarification for such a simple Strategy i.e.: Buy when 3 ema cross 15 ema and goes above and reverse to Sell when 3 EMA cross 15 EMA and goes below!!!

As mentioned by SH and N number of times by rkkarnani and a few others, the strength of the strategy lies in the Exits at 3EMA not touching and Add at 15 EMA touch and also Money Management...

So the members who tried to Trade it by just Buying and Selling on Crossover were getting anhilated by the market and were clamouring for guidance time and again!!!

I also now understand why some people were skeptical about a EMA crossover strategy being Profitable!!!

Hopefully with New Rules of Exit the Strategy would be Comfortable and more Profitable!! :)

I would like to Post a WARNING!! hazarding many members would not like it :

DO NOT TRADE 315 STRATEGY JUST ON 3 AND 15 EMA ALONE. IT WILL BE INJURIOUS TO YOUR WEALTH!!!

One needs to be well versed with 3EMA exits and 15 EMA adds to go for trading based on this strategy!!

It might have further been improved with the NEW exit rules but have not gone through them hence not commenting on them!!

I repeat : Do not trade the Crossovers only, the strategy by SH has much more in it than simple crossovers!!!

What are the results!!! Are you sure you have not made any error !!! I have seen on charts 315 giving 300/ 400 and even 800 points opportunity.. how can this be not worth trading!!

Before making such a bols statement , hope you were yourself convinced about the results!!! Though I doubt it.
I request anyone who has analysed the 315 crossover to deny the above by posting the results.

Along with the crossover, one should also add an oscillator to confirm trend reversal. That would make 315 strategy more robust. My 2 cents.

Really simple and good strategy..
but the main problem it may be having is that it being lagging in nature.
market may already have moved up quite a bit when the actual crossover happens.
hence it will work in a strongly trending market.

Hello

Sometime back I have posted here the results of only the 315 cross for past 10+ years of nifty.

If one trades with all the current rules given by SH, it certainly gives much better performance than trading just the cross.

There are two problems, number 1 is many traders just jump into and start trading without really understanding the system in its entirety. I recommend that anyone who wants to trade this system should go through the entire history of Nifty to understand how the system will work in different situations.

This system is not designed to catch the tops and bottoms, the reversals come after some retrace, so one has to accept this. If a trader is not happy with this fact then they should look for some other system that they feel comfortable to trade.

By going through the historical charts we realize this system will give whips, from time to time we will have to book small losses, for every turn we will have to face the retrace and will not be able to catch tops and bottoms, but overall it puts good money in our pocket, it beats our random buy/sell type of trading by a long shot.

Over all its a great work done by SH and shared here for free for all of us to make use of, now we need to put our efforts in understanding everything before we put our money on the line.

Thanks

Simple and good are relative terms... most of the MA crossovers are 'lagging" in nature, nothing spaecial about 315 being lagging!! Most os us here who have the most basic knowledge or info about TA know this. What makes 315 special is the exit and add rules!! It was really a very good observation by SH.
I agree with Umesh Mandal that trading just the Crossover may not give results worth trading them at all!!
Has anyone prepared any excel sheet for just the crossovers for say last year or two??? If yes!! Please post the same.
