SH's Intraday Strategy - ELH5

Dear SH.

What is the idea behind stopping the trade for the day when two consecutive trade fails? Just curious to know the reason.
Why tempt fate more than we need to? Its part of SH's money management rules.

Sometimes I think that the same should apply for two consecutive positive trades, especially if they are the first two of the day. Two good trades and one should just leave it like that. Why tempt fate? ;-)

never limit gains only limit losses, reason is the stock market is not a random distribution but a fat-tail distribution, the chances of a run of losses or wins ocuring are higher than an even/random distribution spread over many instances. Therefore if you hit a series of losses it is likely to continue and should be cut and on the other hand if you hit a series of wins it is likely to continue and must be taken advantage of.

Excellent post and very true. Assuming the market is a normal distribution is a typically yet wrong assumption held by many.

Thanks Arya. I will keep this mind. :)

Thanks - was away after 12.30 PM today so couldnt take any more trades.

Seems after the first profitable trade, the rest two gave small losses and people stopped trading at that point... good descipline .. :thumb:

We take today again as a breakeven/small gain day.

Every breakeven/small gain day is VERY IMPORTANT and PRECIOUS for an intraday trader .... we just cant afford big loss days .. rest everything else is welcome with both hands .... :hap2:

Reminds me of an an old japanese saying ... Money grows on the tree of persistence

Cheers
SH
