SH's MArket Correction Prediction Strategy

I have backtested the EMA 100 strategy with options data for last 3 years but recently (1.5yrs) it has been going wrong more often than not. That is why I asked you the question. If you backtest you will also know the problems.

Well, I am not comfortable with options. So no comments!

Note: Also check if 100EMA was near the expiry, if so, time decay must have cut down the option value!!! Please check against future prices too.

Hi, see the whole idea behind the EMA100 theory is that prices will move quite a distance either side. We cant trade this set up with futures. Only option strategies like straddle/strangle can play this kind of set up.
I have looked at futures movement first, then I have taken the option prices and backtested. The results have not been favourable for last 1.5 yrs.

Seniors if we back test this system in nifty spot, i could see that it has not worked out during this period 24 Mar 2011 to 1 Apr 2011. I can see a breakout during this period and a strong upward momentum. Nifty ignored this system completely. Since i dont have the futures data i am checking in spot prices.

Seniors any comments in this regard?

Ok, perhaps you both are right! But this discussion is going nowhere especially when the context is not with regards to this thread. This thread is for SH Market correction strategy!

There has been instances where the 100 EMA has not been touched for a very long time, and it did come to touch the 100 EMA after the scheduled period respecting the SMC strategy. Recently HCL Technologies is one perfect example of SMC in 100EMA.

I would recommend that you put this question in the original 315 thread. That thread is more active than this thread.

If you keep going to previous posts, you might find nifty 100ema too.

A small question , is there any method by which we can know that nifty will open gap up/down before end of earlier day ??
