Four very strong teams you mentioned. :thumb: Did not know until this thread that you are a soccer fan. :clap: Now let's see. I mean, France is a heavy meal for the Germans. Columbia will be a heavy meal for Brazil. Argentina could fail against the red devils as the Netherlands could fail against Costa Rica. But as told from the German defender MERTESACKER when he told clear words during an interview with a journalist: We do not talk about Carnival Associations on such a level in this tournament. So I hope we will see more games like the one between Brazil and Chile, which was so far one the most interesting and exiting games I have seen in this SWC.

Tonights games:

Soccer History between France and Germany:

First time they meet on a SWC was 1958 in Sweden. They played the third place game. France made it and won the game with 6:3 against the Germans. Here we see Karl-Heinz Schnellinger against Just Fontaine, which made three from those six goals from the French team.

Many years later, exactly 24 years, they meet again in a SWC and this time it was in Spain in 1982. Here they played against each other in the semi final game. This game is known as the "Thriller from Sevilla". It was an incredible hard and tough game. The worst scene was the one when the goalkeeper from the Germans (Toni Schumacher) fouled Patrick Battiston. After this foul the French man was knocked out and was brought to the hospital. After 120 min, the game was 3:3. At the end, the Germans won the penalty shoot out with 5:4. Here we see Klaus Fischer in action. With this sensationally falling overhead kick with which he made the needed goal in the 108 min for the 3:3 against France.

The next time they meet again in a SWC was 1986 in Mexico. Here again they played in a semi final against each others. France with Platini (10) was the favorite in this game, but did not have any chance against the German wall. So France lost this game with 2:0. Here an other try from Platini (10), but it was not his day.
