The question was on how and why bid/ask on stock like IFCI on NSE/BSE and then you mentioned ECN and FCM which are related to forex.

Ok Let's Forget About FCM & ECN & Only Take Our Exchange
You Have 100 Shares Of IFCI & I Want To BUY 100 Shares Of IFCI
Now The Thing Is Your ASK Is 51.00 & I Want To BUY But Not At 51.00 That Would Be Market Execution, So I Want To BUY Therefore I Put The BID At 49.50.

That Is What You See On The Screen, Our Market Is Driven By Price.

Now Coming To FCMs & ECN

FCMs Do Not Charge Brokerage Because They Bump The Actual BID & ASK

If You Want To See How Much It Is Bumped Up By Go To Homepage Of
http://www.mbtrading.com


On The Left Side You Will See The Actual BID & ASK As Traded By Interbanks & Compare That To Your Brokers MT4 BID & ASK That Difference In Price Is What They Make.

In Our Exchanges There Is No Bumping Of Spreads Apart From Actual BUY & SELL Prices Entered By The Willing Parties.

Do you use some kind of porfolio manger/ or buy on recos?

no , i dont have any pms. this is a long term investment based on recomentations and once i buy it usualy i will not sell it so easily so natuaraly i will be carrying those dead stocks sometimes. but i dont have much of regrets. i load it in rediff portifolio or money control portifolio to have awatch over it.

U have a big list of the shares.... i think u can put them in excel with columns and then ask someone...right now it is in a mess and and can hardly understand what is what?
