GM S avant,

I am going through wikipedia about ETFs.Not getting it properly. As per my understanding it is bunch of stocks from stock exchange. We can invest in it as longterm as well we can trade. But i feel its little similar to MFs.Also we need to have gud chunk of money to work with it.

Plz explain in layman language.
Thanks,
Arti

Bunny,

b) I Do Not Follow Or Know MACD
c) Volume To Some Extent But Not A Primary Consideration
d) EMAs Too I Don't Follow,

Next Time My Bunny Please Post Charts With, SMA 5 & 6, BB (9,2) & EMA 9 & 100 All Overlayed & I Do Not Want To See Secondary Window On The Charts, Like Volume, MACD & ADX One, As Present On The Charts Posted.

Refer The Chart To Somebody More Knowledgable To Interpret It For You.

While I am certainly not more knowledgeable than Savantji, I think I can add something.

Breakout of volumes requires the price to breakout of a resistance and on high volumes. Here since there is not hard and fast rule some TA's use a rule: breakout of more than 3% from resistance (viz 515 for ABAN or closing of more than 500 for 3 consecutive days). If the above rules is not satisfied then it would be a spike or testing the waters. If it satisfies the rule and then starts closing below 500 for 3 days then it becomes a failed breakout and stocks "usually" decline rapidly.

About volume - the volumes may not spike on the day of breakout itself but one successive day the volumes should support the price rise. If the avg volume following breakout is higher than the moving average that should qualify.

Also note the days following the breakout were extraordinary. Besides the rapid rise of the stock price in a short while can also dry up volumes.

Hi Arti,

Please go to www.nseindia.com and read under ETF on the top bar. Very detailed and useful info.

Sometime back Savant and given a recommendation for GOLD. Here are a few useful links for everybody on that subject:

Savant Sir,
ABAN OFFSHORE has already reached an intra-day high of 1072 :D

Savant Sir,
Please opine on my TA on ABAN OFFSHORE. I have attached the chart here.
TGT 1060, SL 905.

However, what worries me is that the volume on the day of breakout have increased only marginally instead of . So is this some false breakout or an example of planned distribution aka manipulation :D?

Thank you.

Thanks LT :)

Anyways, here are my picks for trading session of June 3 2008:

IFCI - (Jun 2 Closing:53 ) BUY for intraday
ABAN - (958) TGT: 1060 1 week SL 905
RPL(143.8) - BUY for 1 week
SAIL(182) - Short sell
ROLTA(145.35) - TGT 155 for 1 week SL 140

IFCI touched 55 quite a no of times. It was chosen because of a shooting star formation on candle charts.

ABAN was chosen as a ascending triangle pattern was close to breakout
RPL was chosen because of a hammer candle stick pattern
SAIL because if hanging man pattern n candle charts.

I will update the figures again after closing :D

Thank you.

Very frankly, savant i would want to have some cash and rebuild my portfolio as per ur recommendations. I dont know about strategies that one should adopt to earn in share market. I guess my timings are wrong especially the exit timings. I just hold on too long..pls guide me.
