Hi jace48,

I am a bit confused by what you said (sorry am a newbie). What do you mean by Satyam SL is at 58 on closing? Does that means I should keep on holding with a SL order placed for 58? How is this SL value calculated? I mean I bought it at 68 so shouldn't I place SL at somewhere close to 68?

Sorry to bother you,

Best,
-- Joshi

First a disclosure. I have no holding in Satyam was not able to take position the SL is my personal advisory note.

A stock with need some time to fluctuate up and down if you keep the SL at 68 you might book loss but it might suddenly or progressively rise more or more and hence you should have a appetite to take some loss. If Satyam trades below 58 then their is high chances for some time it will continue moving down and hence I would prefer exiting the trade. Thought I could be wrong. For example I exited my trade in ChambalFert because my SL was hit but it went on roll next day but I have no regrets about it .

As for calculating SL. It's visual and judgmental (Go refer to my earlier post about learning)

BTW to earn large rewards, you much accept risk, this is a moral that extends beyond world of finance and stoke markeet. The trick is to accept no more risk than necessary.

If you fear loosing money because of SL then you shouldn't have taken the position in first place.

Scorpio,

There Was A List Before That Which Was Put Up For Izzner, Cause He Didn't Mind Trading Futures For His Balance That Was Still With Him, Calculate What Could Have Been Made On Intraday On Those.

I Personally Hold Several Lots Of Chambal At An Approximate Average Of 38
Positional Ofcourse & In No Hurry To Exit Yet...:)
