thanks a lot savantji, i shall check upon the QIP's & the TA course offered by NSE & the guy murtaza bhai has suggested to me.

thanks a ton :)

Hi Rishi,

HOLD INDIAINFO Till Year End, While PANTALOON Retail I Don't Much Like, But That Doesn't Mean It Won't Go Up.....Therefore Trail With A Decent S/L To Protect Your Profit. Whenever It Triggers, Use The Proceeds To Get Into A Better Company.

CLUE: Companies Which Have Recently Raised Money Through QIPs Will Move Faster On The Upside, Many Of The QIPs Are Down More Than 50% & There Is Always A Tacit Understanding By The Underwriters/Bookrunners To See That QIPs Make Decent Money Which Is Usually In Excess Of 100%.

Now Don't Ask Me For Details Of QIPs, You Will Need To Obtain It From Somewhere...Since I Don't Track It.

NSE Has Some Course On TA, Therefore Check It Out, I Think The Acronym Is TAME Technical Analysis Made Easy. Not Aware If They Offer It In Delhi.

Happy & Safer Investing

Rish,

I know this person - good TA -- BUT his services are paid. Conducts TA classes for 1/2 days and good for Non-Tech people too.

You can check his performance at n o o r e s h t e c h dot blogspot dot com.
I have traded many of his calls and he is available to me on Y! too.

Do check him out -- of course he will not be able to provide any certificate etc.

Another better way is to learn it all yourself --- TJ is all about learning and what I have learnt in the last 6-8 months is much much more and qualitative than any other resource or my attachment to the markets.

Also somewhere on TJ I had read about various courses (professional) on TA. Will look it and then Edit this post to add on - so check later again - say after 5pm.

Hi Chaitanyagoa,

U can not upload file more than 100.0 KB.

U need to upload file on some another site. www (dot) rapidshare (dot) com would work for you and then paste the download file url here.

Becoming a Professional Trader

Xaero,
I guess, you are looking for a career in capital market and research. You can try this site for further guidance. They conduct a 1 and 2 yr course and claim to provide 100% placement.

Xaero,

While linkon07 is giving u many good guidence, Let me put my 2 cents here.

I saw few words coming in your discussion. Here is how I will arrange them in proper hierarchy. With each level, u can keep exploding it further and get down to the details.
You can visualise as if house of MBA contains many rooms, when u enter finance room, you see few more smaller rooms and so on and so forth..

1) MBA - Finance / Marketing / HR / Sales / Economics / Statistics etc
2) Finance - Corproate Finance / Banking / Accountancy/ Investment / Company Analysis / Insurance etc
3) Banking - corporate banking / retail banking / wealth mgmt or HNI banking / Loan / Deposits etc
4) Investment - Capital Market / Fundamental analysis / Tech analysis / risk mgmt/ Trading / Investment instuments like stock, derivatives, forex, commodities etc

Hope this helps in getting bigger picture and taking right decisions.. Don't try to master everything. We got to choose our focus area and master that. It always helps to know the surrounding areas to get an edge.

(Above are some of the thoughts that came on top my head in 5 mins.. the list is not exhaustive but hope u get the idea of how to see the bigger picture and find your way out in this jungle).

All the best..
Thanks much to both of you.

Financial Planning and Investment Banking are the two that I feel I need to get more info on. I'm happy that now I atleast know what to look for. :D

Thanks a lot.
