Hi CNB,

if you are shorting when a SELL is triggered then you use the following:

STOP LOSS = Recent High

Target = 2 times LOW minus Stop Loss (Recent High)

Here the low is the low of the day on which the SELL was triggered.

Stop Loss continues to be same till a new high is made (during a retracement). When a new high is made it becomes the new SL.

Target is not changed till It is hit. Once the target is achieved and the stock is still in down move, recalculate the Target with the values of the target hit day. This continues till either SL is hit or a BUY is triggered.

One important point about STOP LOSS:

When you are LONG (Bought the share) the stop loss will always move towards target. That means, when you recalculate a new SL and the new SL is lower than old SL then retain the old SL and reject the new SL.

Same applies to SHORT position. If new SL is higher than old SL retain old SL and reject new SL.

NEVER BREAK THESE RULES FOR STOP LOSS

Hi everyone my first post here but have been following for a few days. Would like to start out by saying thanks to savantgarde, asnavale, uma_k and kenneth for their incredible work in the other thread. Your efforts are highly appreciated.

Now for all the experienced traders and readers here is my question. I am planning to buy Tanla solutions 1000 shares @ 57.35. Do you think this stock can rise in the coming few weeks and what should be my target and stop loss.
