Hi Shaan,

I did not quite understand what you want. Do you mean to say that the generated triggers table should be put in a single Excel file and attached? Or you want the follow-up and updates be put in Excel file and attached (similar to what Uma does)? Please clarify.

-Anant
Hi Anant,

How do u keep a track of all the triggers? I mean how do u know a stock has hit the Target or SL? Do u have a software for that which will do the required automatically or do u do it manually?

Thanks

Hi Chaitanya,

Let me explain this with an example. In Chapter II, I have given the Buy Triggers generated today. Let us take the example of GTLINFRA. Today GTLINFRA has closed at 37.20 (NSE price) and reached a high of 38.65. It has a made a low of 34.10 on 22-7-09. Using these values we calculate the Target and SL as Follows:

STOP LOSS = RECENT LOW = 34.10 (I have rounded this to 34, as we should have SL a little below calculated value).

TARGET = 2 times High minus Stop Loss = 2 X 38.65 - 34.1 = 77.3 -34.1 = 43.2

This is the way I calculate initial SL (There are other ways of calculating SL).The trailing SL will be same as the initial SL till a new LOW is made during retracement which is higher than the initial SL. Once a new higher LOW is made (during a retracement) the Trailing SL will move up to that value and the same process continues till either the SL is hit or a SELL triggered.

For any clarification please do post.

Regards

Hi,

Anant,

For buy SIGNALS your above target calculations will guide for upper targets. But What to do for lower targets when SELL signals are genrated ?

A wild guess, for SELL signal, Shall I calculate stoploss as,

First lower stoploss target = 2times of resent LOW minus recent HIGH,

everyday till a new low is made ? or some other method is there ?

Regards,

CNB

Re: Stocks To Keep A Close Eye On - Chapter II

Hello Friends,

Todays (30-07-2009) BUY/SELL signals are given below. These are to be traded tomorrow.

In the above table the lines in RED COLOR are those which have given SELL Trigger. For these the Target & Stop Loss columns (Last two columns) have no meaning.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE FOR TESTING PURPOSE. TRADING THESE SIGNALS WILL BE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Divislab data is incorrect as it is trading in split.

Hi CNB,

if you are shorting when a SELL is triggered then you use the following:

STOP LOSS = Recent High

Target = 2 times LOW minus Stop Loss (Recent High)

Here the low is the low of the day on which the SELL was triggered.

Stop Loss continues to be same till a new high is made (during a retracement). When a new high is made it becomes the new SL.

Target is not changed till It is hit. Once the target is achieved and the stock is still in down move, recalculate the Target with the values of the target hit day. This continues till either SL is hit or a BUY is triggered.

One important point about STOP LOSS:

When you are LONG (Bought the share) the stop loss will always move towards target. That means, when you recalculate a new SL and the new SL is lower than old SL then retain the old SL and reject the new SL.

Same applies to SHORT position. If new SL is higher than old SL retain old SL and reject new SL.

NEVER BREAK THESE RULES FOR STOP LOSS

yes..:clapping: if u can put them all up to date in single excel file and attach, it will be easy to track. Else like how Uma helps savant j:clap:, I can do this for you if you provide the updates :)

Hi Shan,

Iwill try to do this in August.

Hi Raj,

See the snapshot below. In the circled portion in the right side bottom the ND (No Delivery) period is underlined. Therefore, you can not get the shares in your account during this period. Only after 30-07-09 they will be in your account.
