Guys,

It Is My Wish & Endeavour To Try & See That Most Of The BUY Triggers Remain For Atleast 366 Days From Their Respective Trigger.

Point Being That If You BUY Shares Of A Company & SELL On The 366th Day From The Date Of Contract Note, There Will Be No Tax To Be Paid On The Profit Made, Which In Taxation Rules Comes Under Long Term Capital Gain From Securities Which Is Exempt From Any Kind Of Tax.

But That Doesn't Mean We Shall Be Blind To Market Conditions, So Far Market Is Looking Very Good, For Atleast 12-15 Months.

In View Of Above Points Try & Let The Profits Run & Do Not Get Easily Rattled By Some Small Correction.

This advice holds very good. i.e. reap more benefits + save some taxes being long.

By the way, I have been watching this thread from the side lines for 2 weeks. I am a new-bee to this stock investment world. Yes, I was always scared to get into it because of Horror stories of the past, that I heard from my friends/families.

Also, I would shout out loud saying "Thanks" to Mr. Savant Garde and others who has been posting useful information on this forum and helped my portfolio rise 19% within a week.

At the moment my investment outlook is for short-term i.e. to exit out of it by July 30th as I need this money for higher education fee. (yep, I invested my play money :rofl:)

My Holdings are:
Idea Cellular
IFCI
Reliance Natural
Reliance Petro
Unitech
Bought them within 7 - 10 days time frame.

I am thinking of building more positions in IFCI and Unitech. Will this be a good idea?

Do I need any re-shuffle in my portfolio for this short outlook?
(Savantji's buy list in May09 helped me in picking the above mentioned stocks)

Thanks y'all

PEACE :clap:

Hi Doc,
You may need this code in AFL. This is in accordance with what Savant has said. It's for use with the automatic analyser of AMI to search for stocks which has started to reverse their trend after piercing bands on either sides. I've kept a filter of Avg Trading volumes over past 5 days being greater than 2.5L to filter out illiquid stocks. If you want to remove the filter, just remove the bold portions of the code below.

AFL code:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
mean = Param("Mean",9,0,100,1);
std_devn = Param("Standard Deviation", 2,0,5,1);
Avg_vol = (Ref(Volume,-4)+ Ref(Volume,-3)+ Ref(Volume,-2)+ Ref(Volume,-1)+ Volume)/5;
Buy = Ref(Low,-1)<Ref(BBandBot(Close,mean,std_devn),-1) AND Low>BBandBot(Close,mean,std_devn) AND Avg_vol >250000 AND Close > Open;
Sell = Ref(High,-1)>Ref(BBandTop(Close,mean,std_devn),-1) AND High>BBandTop(Close,mean,std_devn) AND Avg_vol >250000 AND Close < Open;
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks and regards

Hello Savant,

It is very difficult to go through all the threads for a Masters student like me and some other... i have read a few pages from the Saint's Link "Teach a man to fish". it is very difficult for ppl to go through it.

SO i am picking up all the tips of reading graphs and putting them in MS word along with all the techniques and definitions for the newbies as i read through it ...... Once i am done with it i can send it to anyone who requests for it OR i can post it in the thread if there is a way of doing it....

Just trying to help ppl out in the limited time i get :)

Chaitanya,

Great Idea, Let Me Know When You Are Done, Then A Thread Can Be Created "FAQs Stocks To Keep A Close Eye On" & Post It All There & Then Will Ask Traderji To Close The Thread So It Becomes A Read Only Thread.

Thanks A Ton

Those are volume calculations ie number of contracts traded.

If you go on a EOD charts, it shows the average number of contracts traded for last 5 days.

Same calculation can be used on 5 mins TF, where the average would be calculated on basis of last 5 bars.(in this case for last 25 mins).
is any one can convert this formula to use it on intraday chart 10 min. real time
