1) As per this it says "Refundable at the end of year in proportion to brokerage generated". What does it actually means? Say for Eg. I join under Rs.3500 scheme and generate around 3500 rs of brokerage at the end of the year. Will I get Rs.3500 credited to my account? In that case I have not paid a single paise as brokerage to them? or I am missing some thing?

2) Does these prepaid brokerages include STT etc and automatically debited from the prepaid brokerage? or we need to pay for it extra?

3) They have said for one leg only. That means they don't charge for 2nd leg?

How is their trading terminal and service? Thanks in advance.

1. It means, for the next year u dont have to pay that 3500 again. Suppose, u generate only 2500 for the first year, then u need to pay 1000 for the next year

2. Those are extra

3. Yes, brokerage is on the sell side only.

Trading teriminal is fairly ok. Quick and responsive. They have 4 servers, if one is down, we can connect with others.

Charts are very good. But they have only the basic indicators, (Mov avg, Stoch, RSI, MACD and ROC). The intraday chart is shown for the current day alone. Multiple time frames are supported (incl a blank space where u can type ur own time frame). Altogether u can open 6 diff charts for intraday at a time. Daily charts are only bar charts. Multiple groups of scrips can be created. Basic alerts based on price can be set.

just have a look at the terminal snapshot in this post of mine--http://www.traderji.com/brokers-trading-platforms/27635-best-broker-online-3.html

Chennai Ventura back office team is quite responsive, dont know abt other cities.

are there any drawbacks in ventura...i am one of their client
Raj

I have written an email to them giving suggestions....hope they take some action on that....email also serves others to understand the cons of ventura...

email copy is here-----

Note that i have written this email just today....

I have been an active trader for close to 1 yr now with Ventura

As discussed in ur investors meet held couple of weeks ago at Hotel President, plz consider / forward to HO the following suggestions.

Iam sending u this since, u had promised the audience that any suggestion wud be taken seriously and attended to with sincerity.

1. Intraday charts shown for current day alone. This is really a bane for pure intraday traders like me. As u understand, market movements are quite high during the first and last 1 and half hrs. By the time, the technical indicators show up, it wud be 11.30 and at that time, market tends to be more sideways. Wud request to show atleast 3 or 2 days of intraday data, so that traders who work with indicators really find it useful.

Even if u search thru internet, many active traders, suggest Sharekhan just for the reason that they show 5 days intraday chart. Showing current day alone is simply not helpful at all for traders. Even a simple moving average will not work on a 15 min or 30 min chart with the current day chart alone.

2. Basic Technical indicators:-- Ventura gives barest of the bare basic indicators. I hope ur software team is working on to include more and more technical indicators. But the popular ones are Pivot Points and Fibonacci retracements. Pivots and Fibo levels are extremely useful and important and almost used by all the traders. Its quite surprising that Ventura did not add these in the first place. Pivots can be plotted for each day/week/month (or) for each bar also. Pivots and Fibo are considered as right side indicators, meaning that they are not lagging like Mov averages. Its very important to have these in any trader's kitty.

3. Daily chart (not intraday):-- Daily chart shows only in Bar chart mode. Today Candlestick pattern is more widely used. We can have a toggle switch to change to Candlestick charts under Day charts.

4. Trendlines:-- Allowing traders to draw trendlines wud be really useful. To start with atleast allow us to draw vertical or horizontal lines...

5. Buy and Sell signals:-- It wud be an easy task to show a simple buy or sell signals in indicators ( for eg, crossover in MACD, a small arrow can be shown)

6. Moving averages:-- By default, moving average is calculated on the close price. Nowadays its quite popular to calculate moving averages on the Open/High/Low prices as well. Apart from having only SMA and EMA, better to have DMA also (displaced MA).

7. Alerts:-- Complete makeover of alerts function is required which shud include a audio alert also. Alerts can be used for buy or sell signal in indicators also. As of now, it accepts only price for showing alerts.

8. Any idea to increase margin money? Heard that Indiabulls give 10 times margin. Even Geojit allows 5 times margin. Ventura's 4 times is the lowest in the industry.

As u can see that, i have not asked for advance charting features (or) different types of technical indicators (there are more than 100 indicators). All i have requested are the basic necessities or very simple ideas to accept and carry out, which wud really make the difference in one's trading....

Thank you

In a way it means brokerage generated is brokerage saved! But will they settle the generated brokerage if I decide to close the account?

3. Yes, brokerage is on the sell side only.
That means if I get .03 with some broker it is actually 0.015 in Ventura :)

1) How long we can hold scrips bought on their Exposure? In Bajaj they allow me to hold only till 3.15(even if I have full margin money available that day) and in Angel for two days.

2) Will they take Rs.10 each time if we sell a stock from delivery? or only Rs.10 when they actually deliver that stocks to our DMAT?

3) Buy today and Sell tomorrow option availble for all stocks or only for Nifity fifity stocks? I am suffering in Bajaj as I cannot sell scrips which are bought on delivery if they are not in Nifity fifty till it actually comes to my DP free stock.

4) I heard some brokers allow us to continue short selling for 3 days or so. Is it available there?

Thanks for the link to the screen shot.

What is the brokerage rate on future contracts which are not settled intra-day? Do we need to pay brokerage on the sell-side too in such cases? Also, wondering, are these guys flexible on the rates? I am currently paying around Rs.35 on an option contract (RMoney) - I would be interested if they can offer me something substantially better.

1) we dont have to suqare off at 3.15 or not even 3.30, we can hold till the morning of the T+2nd day. At that time also, bfore squaring off, they claim that they will take our confirmation...i havent had any opportunity to test their claim... :p....but if u hold for more than the same day, then they charge higher brokerage ;)

2) I havent seen/heard anything like that...let me check my stmt for those kind of underground fees...

3) I have not seen any BTST button in the Pointer application of Ventura. But, BTST can be done, pending credit of shares into ur DP account. And in case if the shares are not credited (buy side) into ur DP account, then ur sell side will go in for auction..i have not seen any restrictions so far on the scrips for which u can do BTST...but they have restrictions as to number of times margin for certain scrips...max allowed is only 4 times  and many other scrips have less than that

4) No...cash scrips shorts need to be covered same date...otherwise, it goes for auction on T+5 days basis...they also recover 40% in advance for any chance of non-recovery in auction

Hope iam clear

Thanx
Shanki

I talked to Venture bangalore people last week. The offer appears very attractive - for Rs.10K of advance brokerage (6 month validity), they are offering .01% for futures/cash and Rs.20 for options. And for F&O, if you square up same day, there is no brokerage on the seocnd leg. So effectively, that is .005% for futuers and Rs.10 for options! But would also warn people to have a closer look at their other charges (transaction chgs, sebi chgs etc). I figured out from my calculations that these charges are atleast Rs.7-8 higher (Per lot) compared to what I am currently paying at RMoney. Which means, effectively, the brokerage is nearly .01% per side for futures and about Rs.13-14 per option (single side) - which is of course, still cheap.
