i have downloaded the afl given by you.thanks a lot for the same.i still am facing follo probs
1) when i double click on afl and then run the AA.I get the BUYs(JSTAINLESS,POLARIS,RELIANCE) in WL 14.This is ok
2) then i changed the afl by uncommenting sell condi and commenting buy condi as per your post above.i then entered the date as 11-12-2006 and WL no as 24.i ran AA now i got in WL 14 the SELLs of 6-12-2006.They should have reamined BUYs of 6-12-2006 and in WL 24 i got only 1(RELIANCE) SELL of 11-12-2006.There should have been 2(JSTAINLESS,RELIANCE).it seems JSTAINLESS was erased/overwriten by RELIANCE.
Pls check and advice.

I have found out the mistake I was making.The afl is working now.I was making changes in parameters by cliking on the pane and changing parameters from there ie I was changing parameters of indicator.When I changed parameters in AA window the afl is working fine.

the problem with on line text is it does'nt align properly in columns and in case there are many signals the post becomes too long.However if everone feels online text is ok I will follow that.
Other members may pls suggest further mods to the format.

Hi rpc,

I am happy that the afl is working properly. I had run it and got the results properly. I was wondering what would be the problem. I have even changed the AFL once again and got it to save all signals (both BUY and SELL) in one selectable WL, All Buy signals in another selectable WL and all Sell signals in third selectectable WL. In this way three WLs were sinultaneously created. But I was not able to understand why it did not work for you where it was much simpler. However, as it is ok now I am also happy. Thanks for the information. Feel free to ask any thing else. I will be glad to provide whatever help possible within my limited knowledge.

I also feel that what Murthy suggested is desirable. Giving the data in plain text, with the symbols grouped as BUY, SELL, SHORT and COVER, arranged alphabetically, one below the other. For trades, stocks bought should be listed along with Buying price and stoploss in the same line, put each trade one below the other alphabetically. All stocks sold should also be listed with selling price in the same line, put each trade one below the other alphabetically. Same way Short and Cover should be listed. No other details are needed. It may be a lengthy, but can be viewed easily without downloading. Even those who do not log in also can see the details. It will also be less time consuming to prepare as against making an Excel sheet. Any typing mistakes can be easily spotted and corrected. Such mistakes will be hidden if it is an attachment. However, other members may also suggest their views on this.

what i intended to say was that all BUY, SELL, SHORT and COVER may be presented in a continuous line each, separated by spaces between each stock. (stocks may be arranged in the sort order selected by the owner, if the owner has identified such an order. the first stock in the list is considered the strongest). when such a sort order identification is not done, the list may be presented alphabetically.

i am using the variable:

VR= EMA(V,5) / Ref(MA(V,10),-1) ;

as a column in the exploration window and the list is sorted in that column order. better alternatives may please be suggested.

such same line presenting of signaled stock names makes reading easy without the assistance of vertical scroll bar. stocks bought or sold may however be represented one line each stock.

it is very interesting that the AFL works on one system and does NOT on the other's.

in all such cases, one of the possible reasons could be the 'wordwrap' status while copying / pasting in the notepad / editor.

rpc may please tell what he 'found out' and corrected for the enlightenment of all.
