it is very interesting that the AFL works on one system and does NOT on the other's.

in all such cases, one of the possible reasons could be the 'wordwrap' status while copying / pasting in the notepad / editor.

rpc may please tell what he 'found out' and corrected for the enlightenment of all.

Hi Murthygaru,

It was not the problem of the AFL working on one system and not on other. rpc has explained what mistake he was doing which resulted in getting wron output. Perhaps what he has mentioned is not understood readily by others, excpt rpc and me, is becuase both of us know how exactly the code executes. If you have gone through the code (either rpc's original or my modified code) you would have noticed that the afl is multifunctionl. Depending on 'status' it works differently. The AFL includes your '200 stock selection' code also. After screening the database for the '200 stocks' it proceeds to the execution part as per 'ststus'. Depending on the 'status' value it draws the indicator on the stock chart or does the exploration on the selected list of stocks or carries out Back Testing. In the exploration part of the code the selected BUY/SELL candidates are again filtered and either the BUY stocks or the SELL stocks, depending on the criteria specified, are stored in the watchlist. The watchlist number and the date for which the list is generated are selectable via 'parameters'. What rpc was doing is selecting date and watch list parameters in the indicator drawing status instead of automatic analysis status. So the warchlist was not properly populated. When he realised this mistake and selected the parameters in AA window every thing was ok. So it was not any thing to do with the AFL functioning on different systems. I hope I have explained it clearly.

dear anant,

what i intended to say was that all BUY, SELL, SHORT and COVER may be presented in a continuous line each, separated by spaces between each stock. (stocks may be arranged in the sort order selected by the owner, if the owner has identified such an order. the first stock in the list is considered the strongest). when such a sort order identification is not done, the list may be presented alphabetically.

such same line presenting of signaled stock names makes reading easy without the assistance of vertical scroll bar. stocks bought or sold may however be represented one line each stock.

What you are suggesting is probably the best way of presenting the results. But the problem is the editor in this site does not allow tables. So, putting the stocks in columns does not work because of spacing problem. It is not possible to make the columns with equal spacing between them and therefore, what you are suggesting results in clumsy look. What I have suggested looks good only in one column but results in a long post and you have to go up and down using scrollbars which is cumbersome. But both of these are better than an attachment. If anybody can suggest how to make a table or type in well spaced columns it would be helpful.
