Ashish, Can you please explain in a few words? Not looking for an elobrate answer, just a gist of the system. Thanks.

We are in the countdown for nifty sell, have reached #9 (bnf #6).Need to get at least 4 more candles before initiating short.
ST, does the chart counting look OK to you ?

Yes Ashish, the count look correct it you dont consider intersection. If you consider it, then 4 count down bars completed in BNF. It means that the uptrend will continue for some more time.

It is a wellknown system called Thomas DeMark's Sequential system which attempts to find the top and bottom of the market in a mechanical way.

Thanks ST, Jhonnybhai. I did get what it was from the title thread, from what little I understood, bars are to be counted in a trend - just wanted a gist of it in a few words. I.e when or what triggers a buy/sell.

To STda and Demark experts:

What exactly is the "intersection" condition for a Demark set up to confirm.

Would be glad if the same can be shown in a chart

Friends,

I came across Tom Demark's idea from a different source and it intrigued me so much that I actually purchased his book read thru it at least few times and then implemented it following all the rules exactly as they are mentioned in his book including conservative Stop Loss. I've implemented it as AFL plugin to be able to handle looping and recycling and regulate number of signals. AFLs freely available from n Number of sites (written by Jacenko) do setup counting but it was way too cluttered and generated far too many entry signals.

I had actually started a different thread on this forum before discovering this giant thread. Here is the link to smaller thread

And here is the screenshot

Circles are Setup. 9 indicates 9th bar of setup.
hollow squares indicate countdown.
Triangle indicates first entry. small arrow indicates intermediate. big arrow indicates 3rd entry
