Hi Dry, I'm attaching the S&P Nifty50 which would be the SP500 equivalent of US. This is the spot data. Also attached are two of the index heavyweights. If you need any other you can download them from http://www.nseindia.com/content/equities/eq_scriphistdata.htm the QQQQ equivalent in India would be NIFTYBEES but it is not heavily traded.

On the other NR7 discussion thread you seem to have mentioned an error in an afl by someone since he used high of day and low of day without any time constraints. It would work for Indian exchanges because I think your doubt would have been due to the ECN's that you guys have there, right?

Regards.

Thanks for the attachments. The file extension (.rar) is not know by my PC. Can you let me know what program I need to decompress it?

Not sure of the term ECN. My concern in regards to that post was the code had no way to restrict the calculations based on the actual market hours. Here in the U.S. we have pre-market and post-market trade. Virtually all of the intra-day data available includes the trading which takes place outside of normal market hours. This is especially important for Futures contracts as these trade virtually 24 hours per day.

Once I can work with those files you posted I will get my first chance to look at the data and work out the wrinkles.

Thanks for taking the time to post.

lazytrader,
Thank you very much for providing the files. When I got them downloaded and ready to import into my database I discovered they only contain end-of-day data. In order to fully test my code for Indian stock market data I need intra-day data. I only need about 15-20 day's worth but it needs to be in a one minute time frame. The code I built is intended to work only with intra-day data and I need a sample of intra-day Indian market data so I can determine why users might still be having issues with the current version.
Until I can acquire this data my code will remain as is.
Thanks for the assistance.

@milind

email address is in the afl. BTW posting email addresses is against forum rules. You could however update it in the contact section of your UserCP.

@Dry
by ecn I meant Globex, Access, etc. In India trading only happens in the 9:55AM - 3:30PM timeframe.
Sorry 'bout the EOD files I was thinking about the other thread related to NR setups. I don't have good intraday data. I can get it though but since milind has offered to send it, let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks for explaining this. Very interesting to note the trading in India does not include any after hours or premarket time frames. Sure makes writing the code a lot easier. This may change in the future so having the formula written to adapt to multiple time frames makes it more useful in the long term.

By the way. Now I understand why this code is not showing breakouts for anything but a 5 minute time frame. In my code I have only accounted for market opens which occur at the top or bottom of the hour. Having a market open 5 minutes before the top of the hour is not compatible with what I have coded. Once I get the data from milind I should be able to work this out and post an updated version. (And thanks for pointing out the email address is in the AFL)

Thanks again for all the feedback.

Dry :)
