I hope this below link can help to find out the pivots in ami

http://www.amibroker.com/library/formula.php?id=359

I am also new to afl programming. But i have modified the above code so that we can use it to my preferences, I hope the below code helps u to find out the Pivot highs and Pivot lows but SARs are not marked. You can use the below code to identify the pivots in all time frames.

What u need to do is:

1) Select the number of bars from where you want to find the pivots.
2) Select the number of bars from which u want to identify the pivot.
Dear Kiranb

Just saw your post on AFL for Pivots today. Though this question of mine is not relevant to this thread would sincerely appreciate if you could guide me on how to incorporate this AFL into Amibroker. I have just purchased Amibroker PRO 5.20 and would like to upload this AFL over there.

Am finding it very difficult to cope up with reading the various threads on Traderji.com and also the books on TA & Userguide of Amibroker especially since i am not a full time trader - am on another job and also just a newbee to TA and TA softwares.

Also, kindly elaborate on what you meant by the bar number and how do i need to go about the same too.

Your spoonfeeding on the above subject matter would be highly appreciated.

Would also be grateful if you could give a me a lead to the relevant section in the userguide too so that i can read it to understand better.

Thanking you in anticipation
Best Regards
Floyd:):):)

PS: Rajendra please forgive me for this minor pollution of your thread as cannot pm to kiranb since the latest unfortunate events on Traderji.com

God Bless you all

Thanks for the AFL. Just one additional request. Am new to Amibroker, TA and TA softwares. Just purchased Amibroker Pro 5.20 but not finding time to do self study on the same as quite a bit of my time i spend reading various informative threads on Traderji.com forum. I honestly do not know when i will be able to catch up with so much of informative material on Traderji.com .

Also, am not a Trader/Investor by profession.

Kindly let me know how do i go about this AFL in Amibroker - The steps for installing the same and how to access it through the menus.

Sorry for requesting to be spoonfed but please consider this request.

Floyd dont worry about unrelated questions, just post it and I hope your question is answered,

For Amibroker, please go through
http://amibroker.com/guide/tutorial.html

Hope this would be of good help for you to understand the basic.

For Afl you dont have to install them, all you need to do is copy and paste the afl in the C/program files/amibroker/formula/custom

Hope this works for you.
Thanks and regards,
Rajendrani

Hi Rajendra,

Thanks dear for the lead. Did the needful as suggested. Definitely your guidance has helped me to get up and get running so far as usage of custom AFL's are concerned. God bless you dear. Also, thanks for being kind enough to permit me to ask some non related questions too.

Rajendra if i am not pushing you too much just another lead required - the AFL that Kiranb mentioned on your thread if i need to convert it to a file with AFL extension how do i go about it? - Use notepad or ......... and rename the file with dot afl extension? (Hi Rajendra - ignore this request as managed to find the same by viewing the custom AFL videos provided on Amibroker's website)

Dear Ajax & Kiranb

Downloaded the rapid-share link for the pivot's AFL. Found it working for the daily and weekly charts - but for reasons not known did not see anything on the monthly charts.

Do i need to tweak around with the parameters for the same.

Thanking you in anticipation
