Hi

I think I am impatient. There is a world out there and I am giving only one or two links. That may not be enough.

here is a group of websites which will give you stunning pictures of universe, earth and you can explore much more on your own.
There are some softwares which could be downloaded and used on your desktop. But they require 3D graphic cards and 256 MB Ram and BroadBand. So unless you have a fast processor and meet the requirement, I would suggest go gor website visuals.

http://hubblesite.org/
http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/ You can visit three gorges dam or hoover dam aswan dam. Before Google NASA has done it.
http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/
http://mars.telascience.org/ This gives a software Maestro with which you can make virtual tour of Mars.

I have used WorldWind and Maestro and both are quite interesting. Particularly WorldWind.

However GoogleEarth is stunning, Free software is simply midnblowing.
Go to this place to see or download.
http://earth.google.com/

All require broadband.

Hi Subrata

The idea behind this thread isthat web sites , which I come to know and is interesting , will be posted here.So that it serves as one point reference for web links. I request all others to contribute freely so that we are benefitted

Today's link

http://www.sulekha.com/

Sulekha.com:-A place where Indians worldwide can share their ideas and opinions’ has now evolved into the most vibrant online community for millions of Indians from over 100 countries, winning unexampled emotional loyalty and global media acclaim( from the website)

I found site exceptional. Since most of our members are NRIs they may love to visit.

Another site

http://www.wn.com/

The latest news from around the world
WN Network ranks as one of the top sites for World News on the Internet, reaching around 12 million unique web users in the average month.(from The website)

I found it uptodate though slightly amrican-centric
