Do you think you will start to use the range bars...... any comments.?
Removing time and volumes from the chart and trading pure price action is odd at first with range bars.
I am demo trading dow and DAX with range bars and woodies CCI and see how it works ....then may be I will live trade on Nifty....till then 3 and 5 min time bars are working fine.

Will be posting my charts.

Hi Friends

Tried registering on the woodies university forum but after completing the registration form got the message stating that i need to approach one of the moderators to get my user id enabled.

Would appreciate if you could let me know how to get my registration enabled on the cci forum.

Thanks in advance

This is one AFL i got it from WoodiesClub , this AFL programmed to give some good signals , but yet manual confirmation is needed. It includes some good parameter selection for exits.

Try it Amibroker users :)

Hi Friends

Just happened to be my lucky night.

The Guru (Woodie) himself requested for my registration to be validated by the moderators on my request in the chat room.

Also, got replies to quite a number of queries posed by me on Woodies CCI Club LLC - Basic Trading Room by Woodie and other seniors.

The Woodie CCI chat room was definitely a very warm experience.

Hi Friends

Had posed the following questions to Woodie Sir:

1. Whether he had analyzed the Indian markets - To which he replied in the negative but, mentioned that 3 to 4 members who frequently visited the room did trade the Indian markets with CCI.

2. What should i use for swing and positional trades:
Was told that all of them in the chat room were intraday traders and Woodie Sir suggested that i apply range bars for trading swing and positional trades on daily basis. He said range bars work exceptionally well on daily charts.

PFGNEIL shared the following weblinks on range bars:
http://www.futuresmag.com/Issues/2009/November-2009/Pages/Time-is-relative-with-range-bars.aspx

3. I asked which markets should a newbie trade to begin with.
Woodie mentioned that a newbie should trade the YM - if not mistaken this is like the mini nifty of the dow - am not very sure as am not well versed with the US markets.

Also, was a bit mersmerized and dazzled being addressed by Woodie himself on my speakers.

Also, Woodie said observe for 6 months and prepare statistics on the same and do not trade - these were his precise words and advise to me as a newbie to CCI.

Could not ask more as i got a gentle reminder from PFGNEIL that a newbie can't ask questions for the 1st 2 weeks as per the rules of the forum.

All those seriously interested in Woodies CCI may please get themselves registered on the Woodies University Forum for some excellent stuff there.

Woodies CCI Club LLC - Basic Trading Room is a combination of a voice and text chat room and they are discussing the trades live as they trade.

When i was online Woodie was analyzing the Crude Oil markets but if not mistaken they have on their terminals the forex, the US index futures and also some commodities on.

Could not see the terminals i guess its purely a voice and text chat room only.

Dear kkeskar and linkon

I am presently focussing my attention on swing and positional trades as intraday is not my cup of tea due to the nature of my job.

A couple of questions pertaining to range bars as recommended by Woodie Sir for swing and positional trades:

1.To apply range bars on daily prices i presume my data would have to be consisting of intraday bars as one cannot apply range bars on daily prices otherwise - is this assumption of mine correct?

2. Any study on how many days data is required for trading various tf's as per woodies cci - there must be a bare minimum database available for accurately plotting the cci values? Also, any way of determining the range bar lengths for each and every stock other than trial and error method.

3. Any research by anyone on the application of woodies cci methods on the Indian stock markets? Also, any advise on the stocks that would be suitable for trading on any tf based on the concepts of woodies cci?

Thanks in advance
God Bless

Hi

Range bars for mt4 require live data that can be converted to range bars...so I am using only on intra-day charts..no idea about EOD.

At least 14 bars should be present for a 14 CCI.
