Woodies CCI trading system

Dear kkeskar and linkon

I am presently focussing my attention on swing and positional trades as intraday is not my cup of tea due to the nature of my job.

A couple of questions pertaining to range bars as recommended by Woodie Sir for swing and positional trades:

1.To apply range bars on daily prices i presume my data would have to be consisting of intraday bars as one cannot apply range bars on daily prices otherwise - is this assumption of mine correct?

2. Any study on how many days data is required for trading various tf's as per woodies cci - there must be a bare minimum database available for accurately plotting the cci values? Also, any way of determining the range bar lengths for each and every stock other than trial and error method.

3. Any research by anyone on the application of woodies cci methods on the Indian stock markets? Also, any advise on the stocks that would be suitable for trading on any tf based on the concepts of woodies cci?

You cannot have range bars on EOD as it doesnt solve any purpose in having multiple days clubbed into 1 bar....

CCI(14) takes 14 bars to make the first reading...u need atleast 50-60 bars to get some patterns...

Not aware on any research on woodies on indian market...

What are the pointers to keep in mind for that?

Is there any way of getting nifty chart where this system can implemented.I have got the code for forexcentral which works neatly ;but Fxcentral only provides chart for forex.
Since,I am doing paper trading now,free chart for this system with nifty chart would be very helpful.

Experienced members(Linkon Sir,kkeskar92 sir),Plz provide some input..

Kkeskar ji... can u pls tell me what range bars would be suitable to trade nifty intraday.... 10R or 50R or 100R ? I am using MDP live data...

I am ill demo trading with range bars and I use 5 points range on Nifty so that even if get one bar in the direction of signal, brokerage+ some profits are usually covered.
For live trading I am using 3 and 5 min bars.

Here is a pic of simtrade with woodies-CCIwith range bars on a Ninjatrader platform.
It shows the CCI signals and trends well.

Ninjatrader is a free software for advanced charting, strategy developement and autotrading. You only pay when u trade through Ninjatrader.

It is compatible with Indian feed like TruedataIndia and marketdataprovider although I have not tried it.

Woodies system and range bars too are free.

Yes...its good for options....I use it for nifty options for intraday trading on nifty spot chart.
You can get free woodies CCI system on mt4....download mt4 from gcitrading dot com and install woodies cci system.

kkeskar, your chart of wcci on Ninjatrader platform looks different from the default wcci that comes with ninja. Did you changed the settings and colors manually or you are using different code? If so, can I know where did you got the code?
