So those who short the stock, without owning it, on the ex-dividend date, will they also get the dividend?!
I think you are discussing about futures, as shorting of shares on delivery basis is not permitted in India. For futures ... no way; as how to calculate the future profits for dividend calculation?

Guess you are right there! Will Not work in either case :). Your name will not appear in the dividend paying company's "holder of record" if the shares are Not in a demat account :)

basket orders for 100 different stock if placed by 100 different people at one time can cause issues for 5000 other people using the platform.

We will have a solution for this soon..
Till you get the solution , you should allow it to continue . How it causes the issues to other people on ZT as it is daily used by many people which could be guessed from the open orders at sharp 9.00.00 am in penny stocks as well as the exchange order numbers ?. You can't give the solution soon , it will take much time . Please avail GTC order facility asap .
I appreciate your positive feedback. Sachin is Sachin !

To receive dividends one should hold the shares for how many months?

And where will the dividends be received?

Whats the process of this kindly explain ?

Ex Dividend Date: You should buy the Stock before Ex Dividend date to be eligible for the dividend.

Record Date: Is the date by which your name should be in the Company's records.. This will make you eligible for the dividend...

There is some time involved for your name to get recorded in the Company's books... This time gap is the time gap between Ex Div Date and Record date... So if you buy stocks before Ex Div Date your name will be on the Company's records by the Record Date and you will be eligible for the Dividends..

Good you asked this query on the basket order, it reminded me my query which I forgot to ask. :)

Dear Zerodha, have you made any change to CO as well? Asking 'cos CO was not working with some stocks today. It did not work y'day with one stock also I think, but I moved on thinking it a one-off case. It was giving something like this error: "first leg of order...rejected", though I always put the number of shares after diligently checking it with your margin tool on your website. I thought I'm making some mistake, so I tried reducing the number of shares & trigger limit but it did not work out. I think this was happening with Naukri and DB corp stocks...not exactly sure abt the names tho'!
Punter,

Just double checked, you are getting margins as per the margin tool for both the stocks you mentioned, 3 times and 6 times for MIS and CO respectively.
