Zerodha - Number One Discount Broker in India

Hi Zerodha

when do I get the credit for the options profit?
same day or the next day.

this is because say I am holding options which are in profit today, but I suffer huge loss in futures. The loss is so much that I am extremely short in money required for holding my futures overnight (say I am left with only 20% of overnight margins required). but I am having huge notional profits in options (which if I add give me 90% of the margin required to hold the future). So will I be able to hold the futures (in short can I hold futures against notional profit from unsold options)?

thanks!!!

Is there any way to increase the time before it auto logs off ? I have the mobile in my possession all the time locked with a password, so this auto log-off is more of a nuisance than a feature
We are trying to get this done, will keep you informed.

i have an issue with nest trader. every order i punch takes 5-7 secs to confirm. its too much of a delay when ur punching orders in this market. not to mention the weird disconnection 2-3 times a day. i have a parallel feed running(a esignal data feed) and i have no issues with it. does anyone esle have thsi issue? @ zerodha is there a way to fix this?
just to clarify i m on a 10mbits vdsl line with one of the lowest latencies in this country. there are absolutely no problems with my internet.

There is no concept called MTM on options, so there is no way to get credit from an unsold option. Even if you make profits, it is credited only once you have sold the options on T+1.

We give you the benefit that if you sold an option, you can use the same credit to buy something else.

Specific to your example, if there is a loss in futures and profit on options that you have not sold, it cannot be adjusted. But if you sell the options it can be.

1. Ctrl+P opens up preferences and in that there is a section which says value of order, keep that at 5,00,00,000. should work I guess.

2. For the 60 day challenge, we don't look at funds brought in and etc, we look at all your trades during the challenge and calculate profitability. As you would know it is not a competition with others, only with yourself. :)
Thanks for the response.

1. I changed the values, closed and reopened NOW..still the popup shows up. What am i missing?

2. So, the return percentages can be easily beefed up by doing what i said :!

1. Here's an alternative for that solution... Check out the image for details. What you need to do is select each exchange individually in the alerts tab by going to Preferences < Order. You need to select each exchange and disable the alerts by unchecking the boxes. This will make sure that you don't get the alert messages. :)

2. You can beef up your return percentages as much as you like, but that won't help in the long run.

Thanks Zerodha.

By the way, i was just joking about the return percentages..esp. after seeing the enormous returns of some traders (posted in your blog), i thought it might be appropriate to ask this question.

Appreciate your image attachment.
