I don't know why its so hard to understand. I m saying a stop order got automatically converted to limit order when modifying. Note that the Stop order was partially executed , there were some lots left and this happened while exiting the entire position.

However, the burden of proof lies on me so i shall get screenshots next time and that day you will have to answer, no excuses.
Yes throwaway, it is possible for stop order to convert to limit order when you use SL orders. If you don't want them to be converted to limit you need to use SL-M orders.

Anyways, will wait for your screenshots.

Are market and limit orders in same queue in FIFO? i guess not.

If a market order and a limit order are both eligible for match, then which one takes priority? It makes sense to match the limit order as market will take any price and so exchange can increase their volumes.

If true, This implies that limit orders will have lower slippage as long as they are executed. ( Note i am talking about slippage when both have match and not when limit does not have match ). I read in few articles opposite of this so wanted to confirm.

Edit - Example - say Qty 1
Scrip X - A) Ask @ 100 B) Ask@ 101

1) Market Buy - @100 Timestamp 10:20:00
2) Limit Buy - Limit 100 Timestamp 10:20:00

Will 2 match A so that 1 can also match B. Will it be same even if say it has later timestamp 10:20:01

Dont we have SL-M and SL (with Limit) ? stop-loss-orders-limit-market
Limits are given priority over markets as limit adds liquidity in the market depth.. But this incremental priority is really very tiny and marginal, unless you are using some HFT strategies, you won't get to ever benefit from this.

Dahi tho hoga he. This is a very rare issue and probably untested in NEST.

Guess not many face this kind of issue.

Someday you will face similar issue and will not get any answers. Just one of those nuances which we just have to accept as part of trading , even if broker is at fault.
But what is the issue here? Please correct me if wrong - After trigger, either zerodha server or exchange submits a limit order based on what you entered. Until then its pending and not part of matching queue.

1) You cannot make this limit order a stop order as its already triggered and so there is no trigger to reset. This seems logical to me.
2) When you changed limit order, apparently price was set above market price and so got executed immediately. If this was not the case, then maybe there is something.

whats the problem? If a SL-limit order for exit does not fill fully and you want a new SL-limit order then i think you need to cancel and send new order. I do wish we had faster ordering interface.

nvm, got answer

@Zerodha - are stop orders submited to NSE immediately ? Does NSE server convert them to limit/market when triggered? (Which would be safer in case ZT server crashes) thanks for quick answers to my noobie questions ...

May be you are right. I should have just cancelled the order and placed a new one. But when you focused on price moving, it hard sometimes and forget how to place orders.

May be i am a noob still when it comes to NEST. Never had these kind of issues with other brokers terminals. They behaved as expected.

May be NEST is for experts and requires you to make all these kind of mistakes to learn.

guys, why don't you use sl-m orders for trades?

if you use this i think you didn't face any problem in order complete.

Dear Zerodha, I sent documents to open my trading a/c and demat account on 17th of June and my trading a/c has been opened. The problem is with my demat account, it's been 20 days and there is no update on my demat account. IPV is done and I have talked to P****z, A**t, P****th for at least half a dozen time each and nobody is answering properly. I have also wrote to zerodha customer service and generated two tickets but no reply.

Why such a shitty service? I mean at least provide me a reason. Every time I call zerodha, I am told that you guys will get back to me. Out of at least 15 times I called in last 10 days or so only once I was called back by P****z and that too after multiple follow ups.

I really thought that your customer service is at par with other brokers if not bad but this experience has been disappointed. I know there may be problems but nobody from Zerodha and its customer service dept has been responsible and courteous enough to call me back and update me with the status of my application.

I have also been observing lately the problems customers are facing on your trading platforms, seems you get what you pay for and Zerodha is quickly losing its high standards. Disappointed and frustrated!!!
