Guys,

There is no excuse that can be given when an online platform has a glitch, so firstly if we haven't already said it, we are really sorry for any inconvenience caused yesterday with the delayed feeds for those 20 minutes.

Coming back to the issue, it was an accident, and could have happened with any online broker in the world. It was not a fault in the system, but a fault in the leased line connections. We are still awaiting reply from the leased line providers on what caused this yesterday.

It should not happen again, and we are taking additional precaution by having a third backup connection over the weekend.

Sorry once again about this,
Dear Zerodha,

I am not a tech person to explain about leased lines. but like load sharing servers, these lines are also on load sharing and all the lines going down at the same time is normally near impossible or there is some glitch in configuring the same. except when there is natural calamity and any physical damage happens.

So some more clarity is needed in this case. Zerodha internal team knows better. and hopefully they take note and rectify the same and new version of Software take care of this and prompt immediately when something is going wrong.

Why can't you think of co-locating Zerodha servers in NSE premises like previously NSE NOW used to do, to avoid such issues.

While people are upset about the issue with Zerodha, I would just like to add that a 3rd party website, this, may not be the best place for you to air your greivances. Call them up straight, if you have a problem.

The fact that the guys at Zerodha do provide customer service/have a dedicated point person to answer queries to us here is a good gesture on their part. They were never obligated to address client problems here.
If it is an individual issue it is better to talk directly to Zerodha. but when the issue is common, a forum is better so that everybody gets the answer/solution.

I agree that forum should be used properly to benefit both Zerodha and its clients.

Social media and online forums are double edged swords, Zerodha has benefited quite a bit from all of this, I guess they need to be ready for the other side of the sword also.. ;)..

Hopefully they don't disappear from these online forums, like our blue chip brokers, the icici, kotak, sharekhan, angel etc of the world.

It might seem funny but have some more backups like 6 or 7 backups so that that 20min achievement that you did cudve been shortened. If needed you can charge us and get a good infrastruture, i mean JUST DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO MAKE IT BETTER.

Hi, This is my first post on Tradeji. Also I have not yet got Zerodha A/C but I am considering opening one. I have a few queries:
1) Failed transaction attracts Rs 50/- What does this mean?
2) I am planning to start off on a small scale, i.e. invest may be Rs 5000/- and then gradually when I gain confidence, I could scale it up. is there any minimum limit for getting account with Zerodha?
3) I was using Sharekhan earlier and there was no separate option for buying intra-day or buying-and-taking-delivery. If I don't sell by evening, then it would be automatically considered for Delivery, otherwise it would be considered Intraday. That gave me flexibility to take delivery if I was not able to book enough Intraday profit and vice versa. Does Zerodha also have a common option for buying intraday and for-delivery stocks or do we have to decide before placing the order whether we are doing to take delivery or not? I am not planning to buy on margin. I will buy only as much cash I have in the A/C. Please reply.

Regards,

(since zerodha is away....)

there is no common option.

software has these choices :

you choose MIS to buy intraday
you choose CNC to buy delivery
