Zerodha/Other Member,

How to calculate the margin required for commodity , both for intraday & Positional?
Lets say Gold is trading at 28,000. How much margin money required to trade one lot of gold intraday & positional?
see span margin for commodity in ur backoffice. for intraday its 50% of span margin. so 128k for positional gold and 64 - 65 k for intraday 1 lot gold @ current price.

Typically debit balances can happen when the market moves faster than our RMS team.. :)..
And yes, debit balances can happen, when either broker or exchange slap a margin of 120% instead of normal margin on your in profit future positions, and that too without any information.

All others are paying normal margins as per margin file but you have to square off your in profit trade because you will not be in a position to pay 120% margin. And moreover you have to pay an hefty penalty because of this, as you will fail to deposit that hefty additional margin and that too in a short period of time, even if informed.

Am I right Sachin.

Re: ZT with firewall

If you cannot access trade.zerodha.com then I guess your company has strong firewalls.. But if you are able to access that, by the end of this week most likely our Html 5 version will be out and you will be able to stream data..

Amibroker I doubt if you will be, because you have to install the application..
Indeed very strong,as i can't open trade.zerodha.com.
I think i've to rely on smartphone for trade execution or teamviewer for remote access to my home laptop.

On the webtrader, lets say I bought CE6100@ Rs.20 * 50 (1 Lot) so my total cost is Rs.1000.
Is there a way in which I can monitor intraday the real time MTM value so that I know how much is my Gain/loss?
If this is the first, or only trade, then we can see that in "Position".
But from the second trade on, it becomes difficult (Maybe I'm not looking at the right place).
Any ideas/ suggestions?

Have been using ZT mobile android app for couple of days.

Usability is decent but not as good as NSE NOW mobile app. NSE NOW feels like a native mobile app. ZT is more like a web-app ported to mobile using software like phonegap.

ZT mobile is much faster than NOW mobile. Hope this would remain the same as more users start using it. NOW mobile had become pretty sluggish recently. Trading app is as good as useless if you cannot trade when there is a good signal.

ZT mobile lets you set alerts which I was looking for. It does not have basic charting which NOW mobile has. Anyways I do not rely on it for charting.

Overall I would prefer using ZT mobile because of the speed and alerts.

Also I expect there would be improvements in ZT mobile since Zerodha will have more control over it than NOW mobile.
