Hi, I am trying to install ZT Software on Ubuntu 12.10 but the installation is giving me libssl and libcrypto errors. The program is not getting installed even though on the download page, it clearly says its for Ubuntu! . It would be really helpful if somebody from Zerodha can sort this out starting with a .deb file instead of .sh file. Thanks!

Frankly speaking... the person who made that `.sh` file should be fired... He doesn't even have the basic understanding about it... Why does a particular package (software) need to create a new user for the system... The package should either be installed in user's `$HOME` directory OR in the `/opt` directory at the system level...

Sachin/Zerodha please do some basic testing before uploading the package for download. I can understand that not many of you might have used any of the Linux Flavors earlier... But you can set it up on a VirtualBox... Do give it a try and fix the issues...

Update for someone interested about the issue I had raised earlier that our BackOffice Passwords are not hashed:

I did contact the concerned department of NSE about the issue... After about 15 days, I got the reply that they have transferred the issue to the Regional Investor Service Cell (Kolkata) [How does Kolkata come into the picture?????]....

No more updates since then... I have given them about 4-5 reminders to brief me about the action taken at their end; and would continue to do so until I get a satisfying answer....

I too received that sort of mail.

I don't think its from MCX.

its from mcxdirect .....not from mcxindia .....looks like fake to me.

umm.... I don't think Exchange will make such mistakes .... sending trade logs to millions of traders without password !

what do you think ?

No MP, this mail is sent from MCX. This is not a spam mail. It contains our trade details. But the problem is they are not providing the passwords for it. I called up MCX trading department. They told to contact my broker. But broker is telling me to contact the exchange

Fractional quantities do exist; LiquidBees for example. The rest is a code output formatting issue.
