I have the following queries regarding account with Zerodha :

1] Can my brother who is a canada based NRI open a trading account with Zerodha. If yes would his brokerage be same as for the resident account.

2] Can I use my existing DP with SBICAPSEC with Zerodha account. I am a resident indian.

Aman, you and a few others not receiving currency contract notes, we finally spotted the issue the last sunday, it was basically an issue in the file format of a few of our clients for when currency contract notes are updated to our email server.. Basically there was an extra space in the standard format, this has been fixed and you should not have any problem from today.. Do let me know if you don't receive any contract notes today..

If I have 10000 shares of a company in dp & 20000 shares of the same company in NSE T1 qty, then if first I place the cnc sell order of 11000 shares in NSE , further cnc sell order of even 100 shares in BSE gets rejected (reason- check holdings). But first cnc sell order should use the shares in NSE T1 qty & second cnc sell order should be able to use the shares in dp. Please make changes on ZT to resolve this problem.

Yes, but not in intraday..

Once you take delivery of shares to your demat, you can sell it in any exchange you want..

1. NRI clients can open but can't trade f&o or do any intraday trading.. Just pure delivery based.. Usually if they intend to trade the above we suggest them to open in any family members name..

2. Yes you can map your SBIcapsec with Zerodha account.. When you buy stocks it will be transferred to SBI demat, but while selling you will have to sell it through SBIcapsec itself..

for f&O, demat is not required for intraday or positional...

Mobile App:

I am using mobile app(Android) of Zerodha Trader. When I switch to another application and come back to zerodha trader application, it hangs and says forced to quit.
Any solution?

For what version of android is that zerodha trader mobile app best suitable?

ZT Mobile is known to be stable on most Android devices which are above 2.1
There was a recent update on the app which takes care of this issue, so you have to just uninstall this and download and install the app again. You can keep the app running in the background and do other tasks and then get back to the app for trading.
However, you cannot keep the app running in the background successfully the whole trading session as it can get resource hungry sometimes and also uses up a lot of your bandwidth.

Hi Ganapathi,

WE let MIS(50% of overnight) trading for intraday only on metals and energy , not on agri.. For menthaoil only NRML product type would work and you will need entire overnight stipulated margins..
