Nope not done!!!! NOW.exe has been giving me trouble ever since i started with it.. while contacte zerodha, the entire blame is on my Internet connection (Which is not the case), i have a high speed connection of 764 Kbps speed.. the TT Advance software from India infoline (Which i use for charting) runs perfect on my system but not "NOW" had to bear some negligible losses because NOW gets hung every now and then.. i contacted the NOW customer care as well but no respite.. i dont know if i am missing something but now i am beginning to think is it worth risking your entire trade to save a meagre brokerage???? whenever its hung the only way to resume it is logging out, the refresh client does not work.. logging out and logging in is suicidal in these kind of volatile markets..i have tried all the ways as suggested, desabling Firewall, stable and speedest internet connection etc.. I am all happy with Zerodha except "NOW"...
Hi Vijay, you haven't given us a buzz about it yet??? Can you leave us your number on india@zerodha or pm me your client id... If the issue is faced by everyone, I would have agreed... These are one off issues with a few clients, which we have fixed for some... You need to contact Zerodha for this and not the NOW support team...
Firstly, try running NOW standalone, don't run it with the other software running in your system simultaneously.... If you have already done it and is of no use.....
I think I know a solution for your problem, pm your name and number, will call you back and try to sort this out for you....

Cheers...

Has anyone tried this ?
Sachin,

When would a new version of NOW be available ?

I am looking for Stop Loss Market Order which did not work for me . In one of u'r reply to my post u had mentioned to put Trigger at 1250 and Limit price at 0 to turn Stop Loss in Market order so execuition is guranteed at next good trading price.

Stop loss should work, the only reason a stop loss sometime doesnt work is if the trigger price is never hit..For a stop loss to become active the trigger price you have mentioned has to be hit..

Assume market is falling and you have stop loss trigger price of 1251, assume market suddenly falls from 1254 to 1250 in one tick, in this case the trigger price never gets hit and your stop loss doesn't get executed...

P.S: Having a stop loss in the system doesn't guarantee an execution, if the trigger doesn't hit then stop loss is of no use... It is prudent for an active trader to keep tracking the stock he is trading...
Try to keep stop loss triggers at places where you think a lot of buy orders are going to be kept(in case you are long)

A stock trading at 1012, a trigger price of 1000 will be a smart trigger to have... Have the trigger at places where a lot of buy orders are kept and then limit price where you really want to exit...

Cheers...

Thanks for the reply..

Actually I am unable to place such a Stop Loss Market Order.
Order type was tried with "SL-M".In fact U have taught me lot of methods to give Stop Loss order. The SL-M is what I am getting comfortable and useful.

Let's assume I buy "CMAHENDRA" at 1000 qty @133.Now my stop loss I would put as
  • Order Type ... SL-M/SL
  • Trigger.......... @131
  • Price............. @0
When I enter such data system says - "Price cannot be zero is given

As per u'r earlier sugesstion I would try in a range. But above option suggested by u earlier I was trying that.

One more thing I would like to mention is streaming quotes are excellent.I have compared it with Sharekhan.

Are you sure of this?
Because I thought that if 1250 is crossed, it means 1251 is also gone through, irrespective if there was a trade at 1251. The fact that 1250 is reached means all stop orders at 1251 now become market orders IF there were entered in that way.
Please clarify.

PS: This has nothing to do with Now or Zerodha... just for my clarity

Thanks,

My bad, for stop loss order if you keep limit at 0 it works only on our dealer terminals... Keeping at 0 doesn't work on the terminals that you get...

Here is the solution for that:

The idea of keeping the limit at 0 is to make it like a market order... Instead of that you can keep a limit much lower than the price so it becomes like a market order...

So for your ex: If you buy 1000 @ 133,

You can keep a trigger price at 130, so your order gets active and you can keep a selling limit price of 125.. This way as soon as the trigger is hit, your limit order becomes a market order and there is no chance it goes pending...

Hope this helps..

Cheers..

You should have all the logins and passwords by end of the day...
