Just a query..... did you have to square off a lot of positions due to margin calls? and how many thanks have come through for forcing these square off deals?

I think it should be made known about the plus side of closing positions by the broker forcibly.
The few guys who are indisciplined have saved close to 500 points on nifty because of our risk management.... :) ...

But the best part of our clients today is, market has fallen 1200 points on nifty and our margin utilization levels for overnight positions has not gone above 20% on any day...Most of the brokers I know are presently in 60 to70% range and a few small ones are closer to 75 to 80% ... One day of panic can put the brokers under pressure...

Brokers would die to be in our position...

But Kudos to all our clients, pleasure to have so many disciplined traders on board.... .... cheers...

Hi,

We didn't see any problems on NOW exe nor we got any calls from any of our clients using nowonline.in.... But will check with a few guys I know who use www.nowonline.in..

Cheers...

Hi Bala,

Use alt+ f6 ( net positions) ... this will show your net position presently...

f11 will take you to admin positions... In admin positions, choose netwise and say get positions, this will show your total net position...

In admin, choose daywise and say get positions, this will show positions that you have taken today...Leave us your number if you still can't figure this out, will get someone to call you back on this...

Cheers...

Form Filling Instructions

Hi Zerodha:

Few questions before I send in the forms:

1. The envelope has a rubber stamp on it. do I need to fill up those details ?
2. Do I need to leave both trading and demat form completely blank except signature?
3. Page No. 18 to 28 is mentioned as Voluntary. Do I need to sign any of these at all?
4. What is the POA form attached to the demat form for?

Yes, fill in information on the stamp,

2. you can leave it blank, we will fill it up, the welcome letter will have all the details, you can reconfirm the details were mentioned right once you recieve the client letter...

3. Other than self declaration, everything else would be mandatory for online trading...

4. POA is required for doing online trading... Whenever you sell shares from your demat, we would need the POA to debit it from your demat account, mandatory for trading online...... Same standard document that you will sign with any online broker...

Re: Zerodha....Query on Writing options

Hi Sachin,

Please could you let me know the intraday margin required for writing stock options and is there any sheet available for the same.

Specifically if i want to write 600 CA for Tata steel what might be the intraday margin required and is there any specific formula to approximately the calculate the margins required... for the stock as well as nifty options.

Regards,
Pranay

Hi Sachin(Zerodha rep)

do you adjust profit/loss on daliy basis(MTM) if future position is kept open over night ? Or you settle profit loss only when position is covered ?

Thanks
Hi Raj,

every broker by rule has to adjust profit/loss (mtm) on future position at end of every day...

Cheers....
