no stop loss market is present in my nse now terminal..what to do..i m trading only in future.
SL-M has to be activated, also you need to be using NOW 1.5 for this. If you haven't updated, make sure that you update NOW to 1.5 and also send us a request to enable SL-M on india@zerodha if you are already using 1.5 and it is not showing up....

Cheers...

How is BTST done? I placed CNC order yesterday but couldn't find shares not even in admin position. Will a CNC sell order execute BTST sell?
Hi,

Shares bought from overnight will not show in the admin positions...admin positions will show you overnight f&o positions but not overnight equity positions...

Click on T1 holdings for all your BTST positions and Holdings for all the shares in your demat... Both links for T1 holdings and holdings is available under the surveillance menu on your NOW exe....

Cheers...

Sachin, All in all I agree NOW is a good terminal to trade on - the one exception being Buy and Sell keys are bunched too close - I actually ended up selling when I wanted to buy - dint repeat that mistake again :)

The rest I can live with - except not being able to figure out what options are hot! I guess not too many people do options trading otherwise we would have seen a lot more requests for this feature.

But, thanks again to you and the team at Zerodha!

Ok, ZERO problems with Zerodha, but I dont really like the NOW terminal!

a) F1 and F2 are really not the best hot keys for Buy and Sell. When I am in the midst of a trade, I end up mixing up the two - maybe its just me and my fat fingering but is there any way I can reconfigure the hotkeys?

b) NOW freezes often (atleast today it did a few times) and when I logged back in after quitting, the order book and trade book were not showing me the open orders. F6 showed me quantity and Netposition gave me an idea of my exposure. I had a really tough time figuring out my average pricing because the orders were not showing up at all.

c) When you place a sell or buy market order, the price column shows zero and the qty filled shows the quantity. You have to go thru history to get average pricing.

Small issues maybe but really irritating because I dont have the time to do all these calculations on the fly when I am trading intraday.

Any suggestions Zerodha team, other than live with the limitations because NOW trades really fast :)

Thanks
Nitin

There are 2 components of REALIZATION.

1.MTM
2.Brokerage+Taxes

The FIRST is either POSITIVE or NEGATIVE.
The SECOND is always NEGATIVE.(Broker will take his due irrespective of
the fact that you are earning or not).

If your MTM is positive sufficiently then the overall impact may less.
If your MTM is negative then the impact is severe.

Tell me which is most reliable broking firm in india in lowest brokeage in nifty/share. As the service of most of low cost broking firm is not up to the mark.

Use "F1" for BUY and "-" for SELL.
(It is there in NOW-XPRESS but not checked with LaunchNOW)

Hi Nitin,

a) F1 and F2 actually are the most commonly used keys for buy and sell, will try finding out if it can be configured to some other keys...

b)about freezing, I will mail you an ini file, paste it in your NOW folder, hopefully should help about the freezing issues.. Also, don't open many applications on the system you are using NOW.
For net position the best place to look is, F11(admin positions). Right click on the top of the bar and reposition columns, you can add average price onto the column....
If you are trading options, net value in admin positions will show the margin used.. also go to surveillance and rms limits-view limits... will show margin used...

c) in the order book, market order doesn't show executed price..... Double click on the order and a window opens which shows average price of that particular trade.... Also Trade book f8 will show average trade price...

Cheers...

I have a small 7X10 laptop which does not have a separate numeric keypad - numbers and operators are intermixed with the use off Shift key to save space.

So + & - dont work with NOW on my laptop :(

I wish the folks at NSEIT had used a simple configuration file to store all this information - would have made life so much easier.

Still waiting to hear back from Zerodha on Top N in F&O!

No complaints on brokerages or service though :) - There's always someone at the other end to answer my calls and I give them hardly any business in terms of brokerages as of now!

Dont know what you mean by reliable - but so far, Zerodha is the best amongst the 6 brokerage houses that I have used including Sharekhan, IIFL, Indiabulls and two private brokers.

Trade with them and see the difference in your brokerage charges!
