Sir I duly agree to you that we are clients of Zerodha. But you are forgetting a fact the Zerodha provides its services through NSE's developed software NOW. And if NOW gives any problem it would be common to all the other brokers too, who would be providing their services through same software.

For more queries some gentle man has provided a e-mail id to contact NSE developer team. You may raise issues infront of them.

Also, for this issue you cannot held your broker responsible.

One last thing, if NSE NOW developing team says that the problem is not from there end then I would be the first one to stand with you to ask Zerodha for not providing proper services.
Sir plz try contacting NSE you will come to know the fact..

Anyway my problem got resolved by restrating the PC as suggested by Columbus.. thanks Columbus.......this should have been communicated by Zerodha. I did n't know if restrating the PC may solve the problem.

I don't have any problem with Zerodha Services....they are good...

Few questions on Option writing/spread:

I wish to write MAY5800PE and at the same time buy MAY5700PE.
a) will it make any difference [in margin] if the order is entered one by one OR by use of Spread order? does the system see it differently?

b)If i entered the positions by legging in, will the system give me margin benefit [if any] at the end of business day when spread is identified?

c) for OTM options spread writing, how do i estimate the approx margin for writing? margin for overnight holding? should we refer to SPAN even for OTM spread writing?

members/zerodha kindly help.

Hi,

The only strategy that will get margin benefits are the calendar spreads... Calendar spread orders can be entered using the spread order entry window...

Typically in a calendar spread you are long(or short) a contract and you simultaneously take an opposite position for the next series contract...both for futures and options...

So you can write 5800 calls april and short 5800 calls may.. For this order, margin will be blocked only on one side( whichever is higher)....

All the other strategies are not recognized by exchanges or by any trading platforms and hence don't get any margin benefits though the risk reduces significantly by entering into those kind of strategies....

Cheers...

Dear zerodha,
GREETINGS FROM TRADERJI PEOPLE,

FIRST OF ALL WE THANKS TO U FOR A FLAT BROKERAGE SCHEME, ITS HELPFULTO TRADERS..
AT THE SAME TIME NOW SOFTWARE WORKING IS MORE TIME UNCONDITIONAL BIAS,

THE ONE OF MAJOR ISSUE IS:

We have observe your brokerage calculation method for both cash and F&O segment,

We find major difference between you and other broking firm,

For example:

Rk did not collect stamp chareges but they collect only in the name of other charges at .00225% and
Rk globel collect NSE CHARGES ONLY 0 .0035 ON TOTAL TURNOVER BUT U HAVE COLLECTED 0 .0054 , SO ITS EXCESS COMPARE OTHER BROKERS..

SO PLS EXPLAIN THE ABOVE DIFFERENCES

WE WOULD EXPECT YOUR VALUABLE REPLY THE ABOVE ...

i request to all TJ memmber to point out this ZERODHA STAMP DUTY and trans. charge.
It is too HIGH.
0.01% stamp duty means ONE paisa brokerage + (20+20) default slab and transaction charge EXTRA.
Don't think max. 50 rupees stamp duty is good. good for proffesional traders.

Save Mango Peoples.

Jaago Graahak Jaago.......
