Hi,

Can friends on this forum inform about password resetting facility on NOW-online.in?

Thanks

That's one cumbersome and outdated process. Zerodha needs to do something about Forgot password utility. NOW forget utility is a bit strange instead of offering a hint it asks for a hint :D

Although you can get it reset over a phone call and get a mail conveying new login info. Instead it should be an automated and instant process.

And the other one is Login into website if you missed it first time it takes hell of a lot time to get logged into. (i.e. if you happen to come out without logging out you can't re-login easily)

Hi Shekhar, it took me a little over a minute to reset my password for the first time, once I had figured out that password reset page/procedure is only supported by IE7 and above.
With me being at the low end of the curve when it comes to technology adoption, it took me a couple of tries before I realised I had to upgrade from IE6 to IE7. Password resetting was a breeze once the browser issue was sorted out.
Zerodha could really make it easier for first time users by adding a line or two about browser dependencies when they send out the mail with all the login credentials. It will really help clueless users like me trying out their various permutations/combinations to get things moving.

Still waitin for a reply from Zerodha or Someone:mad:
Hi jyotixxx,
I reckon margin requirement in F&O is calculated on a daily basis. If there has been a swift move in the underlying, then margin requirement is bound to change. You could probably take a look at Nifty margin requirement for the current month in the latest Span Margin file for clues.
Span Margin file for 27-06-2011 says total amount of margin required for one lot of current month Nifty is Rs. 27,695.58. Taking that into consideration, I guess the margin required from you should be around that much.
For example, margin requirement for current month SBI futures was about 43000 or 42000 till it made the move upwards.

Hi zerdha
plz answer my doubt:

Suppose i sold 5 lots of nifty 10 days back strike 5550 @30 and intending holding the position till expiry.

Now today market turned bullish and nifty jumped back to 5470 level and price surges back to 35

my position is still out of the money and i still want to hold my position with a view that nifty will expire below 5500 mark and i will get the profit.

Will there be any change in margin requirement to continue my position?

How do i know in zerodha what is my amount of margin currently blocked and any extra if i need to add during changes in market??

How do i know my square off trigger price depending on my current margin??(in icici we see a trigger price which is very help full)

does all mis order get squared off same day? Can it be hold?

I cannot place a nrml order from my mobile now application, shows order rejected no permission!!!!

Plz reply..............
Hi Jyothi, yes the margin for short option position will keep varying based on market movement... The margin blocked for a particular option writing position will show on the backoffice... We still don't have a trigger price kind of function available on icici, but we will be introducing it soon....

About extra margin, a general idea for you to keep in mind is, if margin for nifty futures is 25k, as and when the option you are writing keeps going out of the money, the margin keeps reducing and come all the way till 12-14k... Same way if the option keeps going in the money the margin required keeps going from 25k and goes higher...

Yes all MIS orders gets squared off at 3.10pm...

NRML order not being able to place on mobile, can you send an email to india@zerodha with your client id and this problem, will get it fixed...

Cheers..

I have this habit of researching for everything I put my money in.. Here too, after tons of hours of reading, questioning, I've made up my mind to start my trading career with Zerodha !

Things to clarify,
Ex : I buy X shares for 100RS into 100 i.e. 10k and sell them for 11k in few days. That'll make it 40 brokerage for zerodha and what else will I be charged for? SST? Education cess blah? Somebody let me know..

Things I wish were there,
NSE on Symbian phones, can't understand the logic behind not making it available for Nokia, leading mobile brand..
Trading on BSE with zerodha! So I wish I could buy and sell shares on BSE too..

Someone clarify !
