But in this case my order was not even triggerred. i clearly saw the market going to 5627, that time it should ve got triggered. Later the price went till 5633-35. Obviously a sell order should ve got executed. but i dunno why that dint happen. And the admin did not answer to my post.
In one of his earlier answers, zerodha had mentioned that it is necessary for a trade to take place at trigger price, for the trigger to get operated. Hence he had suggested that we keep trigger price at heavily traded prices like 5620, 5630 etc.

Hari, Bharat, Sameer.. all these guys "were" so nice to talk with. I feel I was talking to best friend and not my broker. But those were days. These days one has to request for a such guys to come and help. Current lot of zerodha customer care is at par bsnl customer care who don't have any idea manier times about issue call is made. For example on 1st there were some technical glich. A lady kept picking phone and kept promising id will be released to trade on nse in 5 minutes, 2 minutes, 10 minutes and so on. I finally asked to transfer call to Hari or Bharat without telling issue of nse glich and old Bangalorian guy (whom I know from voice only) came and resolved issue within seconds. I understand there must be hundreds of calls flowing in as issue was serious but there is difference in one person doing things he tells within seconds and another keeps giving a new times and promises on a very serious issue and flactuating market. Guess it's more related to experience and handling matters and quick decision ability.

Those guys with whom we started zerodha seldom come on line these days and as we remember them they remember us too for a surprise change as they deal in 100s of people like us. It was pleasure talking to guys even after any issue drift us to bear some losses the friendly talks didn't hurt those losses.
Hey 2021,

To be honest about it, we have grown faster than we have expected....actually way faster....What we realized was, it becomes impossible to be in touch with all of you using the traditional methods, which we could when we were really small... We have a fix, don't want to commit on time, but very soon you will be able to interact with everyone of us live-online... We think this way we can all stay in touch and we can do it even if we become way bigger...
We are a very young company and we definitely aren't perfect.. We are hoping to set a standard where people don't join us only for the cost saving but for the trading experience....As they say we are learning from yesterday, living today and hoping to be way better tomorrow...

Cheers..

Hi Vijay,

When you meant admin, I thought you were talking about the moderator...

Lot of confusion on triggers for stop loss orders... For your stop loss to be activated it is mandatory for the trigger price to be recorded on the exchange...

So if you put a trigger of 5625.65 , your stop loss order will get activated only if this price is recorded on the exchange... If nifty falls from 5630 to 5625 in one tick and this price is not recorded on the exchange(5625.65), your order will not get activated... So try keeping triggers at whole numbers , your limit price could be anything, but triggers keep it at prices that you think will be recorded when markets move fast... In this case ideal trigger would have been 5625 or 5620...

Cheers..

Can anybody explain to me why stamp duty is different for different brokers, does it differ from state to state? I am in Maharashtra, so what will be the stamp duty for me if I trade in derivatives?

If these questions have already been answered please point me to the relevant posts.

Ideally it should be activated, but do send your client id on email to [email protected], we will double check the same... Also make sure if you are pressing on the right order type, like cnc for delivery, mis for intraday and NRML for f&o orders....

I have typed the right type. The order was placed sucessfully for Nifty futures. It was rejected by RMS limitts.

Agreed, 2021. Let us not forget that in those days they were seeking customers to get to the breakeven point. Now it is little bit other way round.:)

No worries. Still I find them million times better than ICICI, Religare etc. Apart from their amazing 20 Rs per transaction, the real boon is being directly-linked to NSE servers if you consider how much an average trader loses on slippage due to sluggish Odins.

And I guess people at Zerodha are smart enough to know that if they sit on their thumbs, tinker too much with their package, take their customers for granted or get lost in corporatising their business, they would soon be doing what Religare people have started doing - ie, calling people like me to get back. And will get the same answer - 'don't bother calling me again, understand?' :D
The success of our business model lies with all of you.. We don't intend to do any SPAM sms, emails phones etc... No advertisement on tv etc etc... The only role for all of us working at Zerodha is customer service, we have no other jobs to do( other than the few of us who run a few algo's for our trades ;) ) .... You are all our messengers for the success of our business model....

I think I have been getting little sentimental with a lot of what I am posting... ;).... Probably missing active day trading... :D ....

Did religare really call you come back to them, or was it a routine " Sir, Kaisa chal raha hai.... ek achha call aaya hai .... "

Routine call came from the local religare broker. After lots of blah-blah from him I told him bluntly 'thanks for calling. Please keep 500 rs in account to keep it alive, rest credit back to my bank! :)

Then days later, this customer care little thingy, speaking laboured english in a very sweet voice, called me from delhi. I said to her, " I sent you guys couple of emails weeks ago telling you about the new-jhonny-in-town giving unbelievable deal on FnO, so what have you in comparison?' And in reply you guys sent me the computer gernerated responses with a ticket numbers! Now tell your managers from my side: F-off! Start looking for new jobs, your bonus days are numbered!"

After that, nothing! :D
