Re: new cheapest broker is here. Zerodha

Thanks Zerodhaonline/ Sachin for answering my question. Just one more question on this topic out of curiosity. U especially mentioned NSE, so do u allow to trade and take delivery of NSE listed stocks only? What abt the BSE? If u do allow to trade BSE listed stocks then are the (NSE) rules - hopefully- same for the BSE also?

Thanks and regards :)
Presently because we use NOW as our platform, we are offering only the NSE stocks... Cheers..

Hi Zerodha,

Could you place some videos/simulations for trading with NOW online. Since most of the traders here are not familiar with NOW interface, it would be very helpful if you can put such simulations on your website.

Thanks for your time in responding to our queries.

Thanks,
Chanti
We are working on it, should have something up soon.. Cheers...

How is the mark to market of options? Are the long calls marked to market like short calls?
Long options once bought have no marked to market component as the premium gets blocked..Whatever is the gain or fall in premium will either reduce the money bloced with a loss or gain with profits...

Zerodha,

If you say annual maintenance is Rs.400/= i have paid an initial cheque of Rs.600 why the 200 extra because for demat the payment of 200 is deducted after every 6 months is it not.
Your initial cheque for 600 was account opening fees for demat+trading account.. 400 is the annual maintenance paid 200 at end of every 6 months.. Both are two different charges.. annual maintenance is only on the Demat account and not the Trading account.. Cheers...

wow...this is too tempting...

looks like we finally have a new-age professional broker.

@ Sachin: The brokerage plans are clear, but I need some information regarding the terminal that you are providing...

1. Does it have real-time charting facility for all stock and index futures? If yes, what timeframes? (tick/1Min/5Min/60Min/Daily)
2. How much historical data do the charts have?
3. What are the types of orders that we can place? (Market/Limit/Stop and can we place good-till-cancelled orders?)

Thanks!
Thanks...

NOW is a dealer terminal, it is fast and reliable but the charting is pretty basic. NSE TAME is a better charting tool.
TAME has data from 2007.
You can place all the above orders. In India good till cancelled orders are valid only for the day.

Hope this helps,

Cheers

Hello Sachin

Great product.Could we trade currencies available on NSE?
We are members on the exchange for the currency segment also but we have still not started offering it to our clients. When opening the account, we open the currency trading account also, but we are looking at going live on currency in March 2011.... Cheers...

Ok. Thanks for clarifying this up. But it comes as a huge disappointment to me because there are many good scrips which I know are unfortunately listed on BSE only. I won't be able trade or take delivery of them! So sad.:annoyed:

Besides if you can give us an idea, in case you have one, about how many scrips would be listed there on BSE and NSE, combinely and separately? Any rough estimation will also do. Separate-data is more important by the way as it will gives us an idea abt the difference between number of scrips listed on BSE and number of scrips listed on NSE.

Thanks and Regards
